Role Overview As a Frontend Developer, you will work closely with the Product Owner, Business Analysts, UI/UX Designers, Backend Developers, QA Engineers, Mobile Developers, and AI team to convert business requirements and Figma designs into production-ready features.This is not simply a static UI development role. Our TMS contains operationally complex workflows involving dispatching, driver activity, load tracking, accounting, documents, compliance, integrations, reporting, maps, and real-time information.You should therefore be comfortable understanding business workflows and translating them into intuitive interfaces. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain responsive, high-performance frontend applications for the Big Wings TMS. Convert Figma designs, wireframes, user stories, and functional requirements into reusable frontend components. Build complex operational screens. Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and third-party services. Handle complex tables, filters, search, sorting, pagination, dashboards, cards, charts, forms, modals, and multi-step workflows. Implement role-based interfaces where different users see different functionality based on permissions. Work with mapping/location functionality and real-time operational data. Handle API loading, success, empty, validation, timeout, and error states correctly. Build reusable components rather than duplicating UI logic across modules. Ensure interfaces work effectively across common desktop and tablet screen sizes. Optimize frontend performance for screens containing large datasets. Participate in requirement discussions and identify technical or usability issues before development begins. Work closely with QA to reproduce and resolve bugs. Participate in code reviews and maintain clean, maintainable code. Support UAT feedback and production releases. Collaborate with backend developers to define appropriate API contracts where required. Contribute ideas for improving usability and overall product experience. Required Technical Skills Strong practical experience with: React.js JavaScript / TypeScript HTML5 CSS3 REST API integration Responsive web development State management Component-based frontend architecture Git / version control Form handling and validation Authentication and authorization flows Data tables and complex filtering Error and exception handling Browser debugging and developer tools Experience with common React libraries and modern frontend development practices is expected. TMS-Specific Skills We Value Experience building software involving any of the following will be highly regarded: Transportation Management Systems Logistics platforms Fleet management systems ERP systems Dispatching applications Accounting platforms SaaS applications Operational dashboards GPS or mapping applications Real-time tracking Workflow management systems Previous transportation industry experience is helpful but not mandatory if you can quickly understand complex business workflows. API & Integration Experience The developer should be comfortable working with applications involving integrations such as: REST APIs Mapping and routing services GPS/location data Accounting systems Payment systems Document upload/download Email and notification services Third-party logistics services Authentication services You should understand how the frontend behaves when APIs are slow, unavailable, return incomplete data, or generate errors. AI-Enabled Product Development Big Wings is actively introducing AI and automation into its products.The ideal candidate should be interested in building frontend experiences for features such as: AI assistants AI-generated recommendations Intelligent document processing OCR-based workflows Automated accounting/reconciliation Smart search AI-powered operational insights Voice or conversational interfaces Direct AI/ML development experience is not mandatory , but experience integrating AI APIs or AI-powered functionality into a frontend application would be an advantage. UI/UX Expectations We are looking for someone who does more than simply reproduce a Figma screen.A strong candidate should be able to identify situations such as: Poor workflow design Missing loading/error states Confusing navigation Inconsistent components Excessive clicks Missing validations Poor responsiveness Unclear information hierarchy and discuss possible improvements with the Product and UI/UX teams. Nice to Have Experience with Azure DevOps / Azure Boards Experience with WebSockets or real-time applications Mapping libraries or HERE Maps/TomTom/Google Maps integrations Charting and analytics libraries Experience building large SaaS platforms Familiarity with CI/CD Basic understanding of backend architecture Experience working with distributed/remote engineering teams Experience with AI APIs or LLM-enabled applications Knowledge of transportation, trucking, dispatch, ELD/HOS, invoicing, or factoring workflows What We Expect We are looking for someone who: Takes ownership of assigned features.
