Fractional Head of Finance

About the Role

Location: United States — fully remote (any U.S. state).

Xenios seeks a practical finance leader to turn operating activity into reliable decisions. This fractional role works with the founder and operations team on cash visibility, operating budgets, financial models and investor preparation.

Responsibilities

You will maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast, reconcile forecast assumptions with the accounting records, document monthly reporting, and model revenue, contribution margin, acquisition costs and staffing scenarios. You will help organize financial due-diligence materials, reconcile capitalization information with counsel, and explain the implications of proposed spending and compensation commitments.

First Deliverables:

Early priorities are a dependable cash forecast, a clear budget owner for each expense category, a monthly reporting package and an assumptions register that distinguishes actual results from targets. Bookkeeping, tax filings and securities legal work require appropriately scoped specialists; this role coordinates with them rather than claiming to cover every function within 20 hours.

Qualifications

We seek experience managing finance for an early-stage business, strong spreadsheet and accounting fluency, careful handling of confidential records, and the ability to challenge unsupported forecasts respectfully. Healthcare, subscription or marketplace experience is useful; a CPA or comparable qualification is preferred where relevant.

This role does not carry a fundraising success fee.

Schedule and Compensation

20 hours/month; $100–$150/hour ($2,000–$3,000/month).
