Fractional Controller
About the Role We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Fractional Controller to provide part-time accounting and finance leadership in a dynamic environment. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who can independently manage core accounting operations, maintain strong financial controls, and provide accurate, timely financial information to leadership. The Fractional Controller will serve as a trusted partner to management, bringing strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and a practical approach to improving financial processes and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Own and oversee day-to-day accounting and finance activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and appropriate financial controls. Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash activity, account reconciliations, and related accounting processes. Oversee bi-weekly customer billing cycles and help ensure timely and accurate collections. Manage monthly and annual financial close processes, including account reconciliations and supporting schedules. Prepare timely financial reporting, including accrual-based financial statements and management reporting. Monitor the general ledger and maintain accurate, well-organized accounting records. Support tax filings, regulatory requirements, year-end activities, and audit-related requests. Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, controls, reporting, and automation. Partner with management on financial analysis, cash-flow visibility, budgeting/forecasting support, and other finance-related needs as appropriate. Work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and proactively communicate issues or opportunities to management. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting experience strongly preferred. CPA preferred. Strong working knowledge of full-cycle accounting, financial close, reconciliations, and accrual-based accounting. Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and BILL.com. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues independently. Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and consistently meet deadlines. Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with company leadership and external advisors. Position Details This is a part-time Fractional Controller opportunity. The expected schedule and hours will be determined based on business needs and the candidate's availability.
