This is primarily a hands-on food-manufacturing role. You’ll be involved in producing, filling, labelling and packing our nut butters, as well as cleaning equipment and completing production records. The role also includes some warehouse and order-fulfilment work. The work is physical and sometimes repetitive. It requires someone who can follow processes carefully, maintain high hygiene standards and complete straightforward tasks accurately and consistently. You’ll initially work closely with our Production Manager, learning how the production operation works as a whole. For the right person, the role can develop into becoming a dependable second-in-command who can take greater ownership of production and provide cover during periods of planned leave, with a pay increase to reflect the additional responsibility. What You’ll Be Doing - Supporting and eventually running nut-butter production batches - Preparing ingredients and materials for production - Setting up, operating, dismantling and cleaning production equipment - Filling, sealing, labelling and packing finished products - Following food-safety, hygiene, allergen-control and traceability procedures - Completing production, cleaning and stock records accurately - Monitoring finished products and reporting quality issues - Washing and preparing buckets, tools, machinery and other equipment - Keeping the production and warehouse areas clean and organised - Lifting and moving ingredients and materials weighing up to 25kg - Picking and packing customer orders - Receiving deliveries and putting stock away correctly - Managing stock rotation and preparing wholesale orders and pallets - Completing repetitive tasks accurately and consistently What We’re Looking For - Strong attention to detail - A consistent approach to hygiene and cleaning - Comfortable following written processes and instructions - Able to carry out physical and repetitive work - Reliable and punctual - Organised and able to spot when something needs attention - Comfortable learning how equipment is assembled, operated and cleaned - Able to communicate clearly and raise a problem when something is not right - Capable of working independently once fully trained - Interested in learning the production operation and taking on more responsibility over time Experience We’d Particularly Value Previous experience in one or more of the following would be useful: - Food production or food manufacturing - A commercial kitchen, bakery or catering-production environment - HACCP or other food-safety training - Working with allergens, traceability systems or production records - Operating and cleaning food-production equipment - Hygiene-controlled manufacturing - Warehouse, stock-control or order-fulfilment work - Manual handling, pallet-truck or forklift operation Formal food-production experience is preferred, but we will consider applicants from other backgrounds who can demonstrate strong hygiene standards, attention to detail and experience following structured processes. Training will be provided in our production processes, equipment and food-safety systems. Forklift training may also be provided where appropriate.
