This dual function role merges senior network engineering with critical perimeter security responsibilities. You will serve as the technical authority on our network boundaries, responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining robust security architectures that defend against sophisticated cyber threats while ensuring optimal network performance. Key Responsibilities - Firewall & Perimeter Management: Architect, deploy, and manage Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) across the enterprise (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco). - Network Security Architecture: Design and implement comprehensive perimeter security strategies, including Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and secure VPN gateways. - Threat Mitigation & Incident Response: Monitor network traffic for anomalies, lead the technical response to perimeter breaches, and implement immediate countermeasures. - Policy & Compliance: Develop, audit, and enforce firewall rule sets, network access control lists (ACLs), and security policies in alignment with industry compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NESA). - Network Integration: Collaborate closely with infrastructure and cloud teams to ensure secure routing (BGP, OSPF), switching, and seamless integration of security controls into the broader IT topology. - Performance Optimization: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing support, and lifecycle management for all perimeter security hardware and software. Required Qualifications & Skills - Experience: Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in Network and Perimeter Security, with a strong background in senior network engineering. - Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in configuring and troubleshooting enterprise-grade firewalls, VPNs, Load Balancers, and secure web gateways. - Networking Fundamentals: Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, routing protocols, and network packet analysis. - Certifications: Active industry certifications are highly preferred (e.g., CISSP, PCNSE, Fortinet NSE 7/8, CCIE/CCNP Security, or Check Point CCSE). - Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-vendor network security incidents under pressure. Soft Skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex security risks to non-technical stakeholders. - Proven leadership capabilities to mentor junior engineers and guide cross-functional technical projects.
