# Fire Alarm Engineer **THE WIGGETT GROUP** · Liverpool · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: вчера* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Fire Alarm Engineer Salary: £38,000 Employment About the Role The Wiggett Group is looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join our growing Fire & Security division, working across social housing contracts throughout the Lancashire region. You will be responsible for carrying out service, maintenance, fault finding and remedial works across a wide range of fire alarm and life safety systems. This will include everything from simple conventional systems through to larger addressable fire alarm panels. Alongside fire alarm systems, you will also have the opportunity to work across associated fire safety systems, including emergency lighting, AOV systems, BS 5839-6 systems and door retaining/door guard systems. This is a field-based role, working directly with our clients to ensure systems are maintained to a high standard and all works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with relevant industry standards. Key Responsibilities · Carry out planned service, maintenance, testing and remedial works on a variety of fire alarm systems. · Diagnose and fault-find fire alarm systems, identifying issues and providing effective solutions. · Work on both conventional and addressable fire alarm panels Carry out maintenance and testing on associated fire safety systems, including: o Emergency lighting o AOV systems o BS 5839-6 systems o Door retaining and door guard systems o Other associated life safety systems as required Maintain a good working knowledge of BS 5839 Part 1:2025 and BS 5839-6. Provide technical support and professional advice to customers where required. Ensure all works are completed in accordance with client requirements and relevant industry standards. Complete accurate service reports, documentation and records for all works undertaken. Identify remedial works and communicate any issues clearly to the relevant teams. Represent The Wiggett Group professionally when working on client sites. Work independently while also supporting the wider Fire & Security team. Experience Required Previous experience working as a Fire Alarm Engineer within a service and maintenance environment. Experience servicing, maintaining and fault-finding fire alarm systems. Good understanding of both conventional and addressable fire alarm systems. Knowledge of fire alarm installation, servicing and maintenance techniques. Good understanding of relevant fire safety regulations and industry standards. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage your own workload. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Lancashire region. Qualifications & Certifications Essential: Minimum Level 2 Fire Alarm / Fire Engineering qualification or equivalent industry training. Working knowledge of BS 5839 Part 1:2025 and BS 5839-6. BS5839-1 & BS5839-6 Fire Detection & Fire Safety Systems Full UK driving licence. Desirable Qualifications / Experience Experience with VESDA systems. BAFE extinguisher qualification. Gent training or experience. Protec training or experience. Experience working within social housing or residential environments. Knowledge of associated life safety systems such as AOVs, emergency lighting and door retaining systems. Skills & Competencies Strong technical and practical understanding of fire alarm systems. Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic ability. Good attention to detail and accurate record keeping. Professional approach when dealing with customers and clients. Ability to work safely and in accordance with company procedures. Good time management and organisational skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
