Led by an experienced founder with a proven track record of scaling high-growth businesses, the company is building an innovative collector-first platform with international operations from day one. As the organization's first dedicated Finance & Accounting leader, this individual will play a critical role in establishing the financial foundation of a rapidly growing business. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this is a unique opportunity to build accounting infrastructure, influence business operations, and help scale a globally expanding company from an early stage through significant commercial growth. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day accounting operations across a multi-entity international structure, including monthly and quarterly close processes, financial consolidations, and multi-currency reporting. Manage and optimize the company's finance technology ecosystem, including ERP, banking, expense management, payroll, and accounts payable platforms. Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and support reporting requirements for investors, strategic partners, and other external stakeholders. Oversee revenue recognition activities, including licensing, royalty, and IP-based revenue arrangements. Support complex entity and consolidation structures, including cross-border business operations and joint ventures. Ensure payroll compliance across multiple states and advise on domestic and international workforce classification matters. Develop and implement accounting policies, internal controls, reporting processes, and scalable finance procedures. Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and transfer pricing consultants to support compliance and audit readiness. Assist leadership with financial analysis, strategic planning, and operational decision-making as the company scales. Qualifications CPA designation required. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar role. Public accounting experience, preferably with a Big Four or national firm, strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience managing multi-entity organizations with international operations and multi-currency consolidations. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition. Familiarity with complex consolidation matters, including variable interest entity (VIE) structures, is highly desirable. Experience implementing, administering, or optimizing cloud-based finance systems, ERP platforms, payroll solutions, and banking technologies. Working knowledge of multi-state payroll compliance and cross-border accounting considerations. Startup, high-growth, or build-stage company experience strongly preferred. Proven ability to create processes, controls, and reporting structures in an evolving environment. Highly detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable operating within a lean, entrepreneurial organization. Why This Opportunity?
