Position: Financial Accounting Lead

Lo cation: On site at a power generation asset between Abu Dhabi & Dubai

Contract Duration: 6 Months (Interim Position with possible renewal)

We are currently recruiting a Financial Accounting Lead on behalf of a leading organization in the power and energy sector .

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial reporting, consolidation, statutory accounting, and financial governance . The successful candidate will play a key role in managing financial reporting across a portfolio of operating companies while ensuring compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, and corporate governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and consolidation of financial statements for multiple operating and holding companies.
• Ensure financial reporting complies with IFRS, statutory requirements, and internal group reporting standards.
• Coordinate and manage statutory audits, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Review and validate financial submissions from operating companies, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, including intercompany eliminations and consolidation adjustments.
• Maintain robust accounting records, financial controls, and reporting processes across the business.
• Support budgeting, financial planning, and monthly reporting activities, including variance analysis and management reporting.
• Oversee financial reporting systems, ensuring data integrity and supporting system enhancements and process improvements.
• Review accounting and tax assumptions within financial models for new projects and support integration of new assets into group reporting.
• Review procurement-related financial controls, purchase requisitions, supplier invoices, and budget compliance.
• Prepare monthly accruals and coordinate financial information across multiple departments.
• Respond to ad hoc financial reporting requests from senior management and group finance.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, reporting efficiency, and governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in financial accounting, financial reporting, controlling, or a similar finance function.
• Strong experience preparing consolidated financial statements and managing month-end and year-end reporting processes.
• Sound knowledge of IFRS and statutory financial reporting requirements.
• Experience coordinating external audits and working with auditors.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, internal controls, and financial governance.
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
• Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Experience within the power, utilities, energy, infrastructure, or large corporate environment is highly desirable.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent) and/or Master's degree is advantageous.
