Reporting to our Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining strong financial control, balance sheet accuracy and statutory compliance. It's a technical accounting role with genuine variety — from reconciliations and audit support to helping us find smarter, more efficient ways of working. A peek into your daily adventures: - Prepare and review reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving variances - Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and support month-end close - Apply accounting standards correctly and ensure transactions are treated appropriately - Prepare and submit quarterly royalty reports and statutory ONS returns - Support our year-end audit and help prepare statutory accounts - Get involved in delivering and embedding Sage Intacct, our new finance system - Strengthen financial controls and spot opportunities to improve processes — including using AI tools like Claude to work smarter - Partner with Commercial Finance to keep our P&L and balance sheet singing from the same sheet Skills that make you shine: Essential - Part-qualified or qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA or ACA) or equivalent - Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards - Proven experience in financial accounting, reconciliation or audit - Strong attention to detail and a methodical, investigative approach to problem-solving - Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively - Confident Excel skills and comfortable working with financial systems Desirable - Experience within a retail, e-commerce or multi-site business - Previous experience preparing statutory accounts or supporting external audit - An interest in using technology and AI tools to improve finance processes Just to give you a taste of our culture, we’ll be looking for you to: - Be a brand ambassador, safeguarding our values and ethos. - Demonstrate honesty and respect in every interaction. - Foster collaboration and open, active listening - Take ownership of all aspects of the role.
