The company supplies electricity in deregulated energy markets throughout New England and has been recognized as the #5 Fastest Growing Energy Company in the United States by Inc. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Operations Analyst to join our Finance team. This position supports accounting and Finance operations through reconciliations, reporting, compliance activities, exception analysis, and issue resolution. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, comfortable working with financial data, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Responsibilities - Record and review financial activity and validate the accuracy of accounts receivable, accounts payable, journal entries, and cash reconciliations. - Prepare account reconciliations and analyses to support financial reporting, regulatory and tax filings, and the year-end audit. - Responsible for the preparation, review, submission, and tracking of a broad range of regulatory, licensing, and tax filings and related deadlines. - Monitor validations and exception reporting to identify trends, discrepancies, and issues requiring resolution. - Support monthly commission processing, maintain vendor information, complete system updates and adjustments, resolve discrepancies, and respond to broker inquiries. - Research and resolve complex billing, payment, accounting, customer, utility, and system-related issues. - Evaluate opportunities to improve systems, processes, reporting, and efficiency when appropriate. - Maintain working knowledge of key Finance processes and provide backup coverage when needed. - Inbound Phone Calls Overflow - Other duties and special projects as assigned. Requirements - 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting operations, billing, accounts receivable, or a related role. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and above-average communication skills. - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of accounting principles and financial systems. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
