The invoices reconcile. The accounts are up to date. The paperwork is where it should be. Outstanding debts are followed up. Deadlines aren’t missed. And when the Directors or management team need an answer, you either know it – or know exactly where to find it. If you’re the kind of person who naturally brings organisation, accuracy and calm to a busy business, we’d like to hear from you. About Bumper Rescue Bumper Rescue is one of the UK’s fastest-growing automotive SMART repair businesses. Operating from our head office and Bodyshop in Middlewich, alongside a large team of mobile repair technicians, we provide automotive paint and body repairs to private customers and major motor dealerships across the Midlands and North West. We’ve built our reputation around quality, professionalism and doing things properly. That approach has resulted in more than 400 five-star Google reviews and a business that continues to grow. As the company has expanded, so too has the financial and administrative side of the operation. We’re therefore looking for an experienced Finance & Office Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day financial administration of the business and help ensure our head office runs with the same standards we expect from our operational teams. The Role This is a varied, hands-on position and an important appointment for Bumper Rescue. You’ll work closely with the Directors, General Manager and wider management team, becoming a trusted point of contact for the financial and administrative side of the company. You’ll take responsibility for much of our day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration, while also supporting credit control, payroll, HR and general business administration. We don’t expect every day to look the same. That’s part of the role. Finance & Bookkeeping Processing and checking purchase and sales invoices Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards and supplier accounts Maintaining accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records Managing supplier payments and payment runs Credit control and following up outstanding customer accounts Checking and reconciling technician invoices Processing employee expenses Supporting payroll preparation and dealing with payroll queries Producing useful financial reports for the Directors and management team Monitoring expenditure and identifying discrepancies Liaising with our external accountants Helping ensure important HMRC, accounting and financial deadlines are identified and dealt with Maintaining clear financial records and documentation Office, HR & Management Support Providing day-to-day administrative support to the Directors and General Manager Preparing professional letters, emails and business correspondence Maintaining employee documentation and personnel records Supporting new starter and leaver administration Maintaining holiday, absence and other staff records Assisting management with HR administration and documentation Supporting recruitment administration Taking notes and preparing documentation where required for management or employee meetings Maintaining important company records and ensuring documentation is kept organised Assisting with general head-office administration Helping improve administrative processes as the company continues to grow Who We’re Looking For Qualifications are important. But so is the person. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership. Someone who doesn’t leave something because they assume somebody else will deal with it. Someone who spots when a figure doesn’t look right and investigates it. Someone comfortable reminding a Director that something needs doing. And someone who understands the importance of confidentiality when dealing with company finances and employee information. You’ll ideally have: Previous experience in a broad bookkeeping, accounts or finance role Experience with purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations Credit control experience Good understanding of payroll processes Strong Excel and general IT skills Excellent written and verbal communication Exceptional attention to detail Strong organisational and time-management skills The confidence to work directly with Directors and senior management The ability to prioritise when several things need attention at once A proactive, hands-on approach Experience within the automotive industry isn’t necessary. The right attitude and experience are far more important to us. Salary, Hours & Benefits Salary: £32,000–£37,000 per year, depending on experience. Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. Annual leave: 25 days’ annual leave per year, in addition to all UK bank holidays. Christmas closure: Three days of annual leave are reserved for our Christmas and New Year shutdown, allowing the whole team to enjoy an extended break over the festive period. Pension: Company workplace pension scheme. This is a permanent, full-time, office-based position at our Middlewich head office. What You’ll Get From Us Bumper Rescue is still a relatively young, entrepreneurial business. We’re growing, we’re continually improving, and we’re not interested in creating unnecessary layers of corporate bureaucracy. Good people are trusted to do their jobs. You’ll work directly with the people making the decisions and have the opportunity to genuinely influence how the business operates. This isn’t a role where you’ll simply process paperwork handed to you. We want someone who will take ownership of the function, improve it and become an important part of the company as we continue to grow. You’ll be joining an established management team and a business that values people who care about what they do. Before You Apply We’re not looking for somebody who simply wants an accounts job. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being the person who keeps things organised. Someone dependable. Someone commercially aware. Someone who takes pride in accuracy. And someone who wants to become a trusted part of a growing business rather than another name in a large finance department. If that sounds like you, we’d genuinely like to hear from you. When applying, we’d also like you to include a short cover note explaining why you think you would be the perfect person for this role. It doesn’t need to be lengthy or overly formal – we’d simply like to understand a little about you, your experience and what makes you feel this position at Bumper Rescue would be a good fit.
