The role supports strategic decision-making by providing accurate financial insights, evaluating costs and business performance, managing budgets, advising on investment activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable financial laws and regulations. The Finance Manager also works closely with management to ensure the company’s financial performance supports its overall strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement financial strategies, including risk minimization plans and financial opportunity forecasting. Oversee and review departmental budgets and ensure spending remains aligned with approved financial plans. Prepare accurate financial reports and interpret financial information for management. Provide financial recommendations and advise management on appropriate courses of action based on financial performance. Prepare and review high-level financial reports, including board and committee packs, regulatory reports, and statutory financial statements. Support the development of the company’s overall strategic goals and ensure financial performance remains aligned with business objectives. Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and actual business performance against approved business plans. Develop financial trends, forecasts, and projections to support short-term and long-term planning. Monitor financial performance and identify risks, opportunities, and areas requiring corrective action. Advise management on investment activities and recommend appropriate financial strategies. Support cost-benefit analysis for business initiatives and management decisions. Oversee financial forecasting and assist management in evaluating future financial requirements. Support effective asset management and financial resource allocation. Ensure compliance with applicable financial laws, statutory requirements, regulations, and internal financial policies. Maintain proper financial controls and ensure appropriate financial processes are consistently followed. Lead, guide, and support finance employees to ensure accurate and effective financial operations. Work closely with management and other departments regarding budgets, financial performance, costs, and business planning. Ensure financial information presented to management is accurate, timely, and suitable for decision-making. Support Health, Safety & Environment requirements within the area of responsibility. Perform other related duties as required or assigned by management. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Minimum 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in finance . Minimum 2 to 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience . Proven experience in financial forecasting and risk management. Experience working with accounting and financial software systems. Professional qualification such as CFA, CPA, or equivalent is an advantage . MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification is considered beneficial. Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and financial statistics. Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning skills. Strong financial analysis and interpretation skills. Ability to analyze costs, pricing, profitability, and business performance. Good understanding of financial risk management. Strong knowledge of statutory financial legislation and regulations. Proficiency in finance and accounting software. Strong financial reporting and presentation skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate financial information clearly to management and other departments. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Ability to manage, guide, and supervise finance employees. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple financial priorities and deadlines. Sound judgment and decision-making skills when evaluating financial risks and opportunities. Key Performance Indicators Performance will be measured through: Budget Accuracy: Variance between actual expenditure and approved budgets. Cost Savings: Financial savings achieved through cost-control and cost-reduction initiatives. Revenue Growth: Increase in revenue generated through operations and investments. Financial Reporting Compliance: Accuracy and compliance of financial reports with applicable laws and regulations. Investment Performance: Returns generated from company investments. Cash Flow Management: Ability to maintain sufficient cash flow to support company operations and financial obligations. Strategic Goal Alignment: Degree to which financial performance supports the company’s strategic objectives. What Success Looks Like The successful Finance Manager provides management with reliable financial information and recommendations that support sound business decisions. Budgets are properly controlled, financial reports are accurate and compliant, risks are identified early, cash flow is effectively managed, and financial forecasts provide management with a clear view of future business performance.
