This position is for someone who already understands sales, knows how to communicate with customers, is comfortable working toward sales goals, and wants the opportunity to increase their income through performance. Furniture experience is preferred, but it is not required. Strong sales experience from another industry will be considered. What We're Looking For We want someone who can do more than simply wait for customers to ask for help. A strong candidate should be able to: Approach and welcome customers confidently Ask the right questions to understand what a customer needs Recommend products based on the customer's needs and budget Explain value instead of immediately discounting Handle common sales objections professionally Ask for the sale and help close the transaction Follow up with customers who do not purchase immediately Build repeat and referral business Work toward individual and store sales goals Learn product information and promotions Maintain a professional attitude and appearance Work well with management and the rest of the sales team Experience Required: At least 2 years of customer-facing sales experience Strong verbal communication skills Proven ability to work with customers and close sales Comfortable working in a performance-based sales environment Reliable attendance and dependable transportation Ability to work a retail schedule, including weekends Preferred sales backgrounds include: Furniture Mattresses Automotive Appliances Wireless / cellular Jewelry Flooring Home improvement Electronics Other commission-based retail sales You do not need furniture experience if you can demonstrate strong sales ability. Compensation Base Pay + Sales Commission This is a performance-driven sales position. Your total earnings will depend in part on your individual sales performance.
