Our ideal candidate has strong technical skills, excellent client communication, a thorough understanding of sanitation and treatment protocols, and a warm, engaging personality. We're especially interested in professionals with strong sugaring skills who are comfortable providing hair removal services to clients of all genders and gender identities, including intimate sugaring on all anatomies . We value professionals who are confident in their knowledge while remaining curious, open-minded, and excited to learn from others. Two Types of Candidates We're Open To 1. Experienced Esthetician – Facials + Sugaring We're looking for someone who can confidently perform customized facials, demonstrate strong product and ingredient knowledge, and provide professional sugaring services. Ideal experience includes: - Customized facials, skin analysis, and individualized treatment planning - Strong knowledge of skincare ingredients, contraindications, and treatment protocols - Sugaring hair removal for clients of all genders, including intimate services - Lash lifts and tints - Brow laminations - Professional consultations and aftercare education We're seeking someone who already has a strong foundation in facial treatments and requires minimal foundational training. 2. Experienced All-Gender Sugaring Specialist – Hair Removal + Lash/Brow Services If sugaring is your specialty, we'd still love to hear from you! We're open to hiring an experienced sugaring professional who does not provide facials, provided they are highly skilled in: - Sugaring for all genders and gender identities - Intimate sugaring, including Brazilian-style hair removal on all anatomies - Lash lifts and tints - Brow laminations - Professional consultations, skin assessments, and aftercare education Important: All-Gender Sugaring Requirement Good Sister is a gender-inclusive spa. Candidates applying for a sugaring position must be experienced, confident, and comfortable performing sugaring services on clients of all genders and gender identities, including intimate hair removal on all anatomies . We expect our sugaring professionals to provide the same level of professionalism, respect, safety, and quality of care to every client, regardless of gender identity or anatomy. Technical Knowledge & Client Safety - Strong understanding of skincare ingredients, products, treatment protocols, contraindications, and appropriate aftercare - Ability to conduct in-depth consultations, carefully review intake forms, and customize treatments based on individual client needs - Understanding of proper safety precautions when working with immunocompromised clients and those with complex health considerations - Commitment to sanitation, disinfection, infection prevention, and maintaining clean, organized treatment rooms and tools - Consistent, accurate client charting, including treatment notes, observations, contraindications, and product recommendations - Ability to recognize when a service should be modified, postponed, or declined for client safety - Strong product knowledge and the ability to confidently educate clients without using high-pressure sales tactics Professionalism & Accountability - Dependable, punctual, and prepared for scheduled appointments - Arrives in clean, stylish, professional attire appropriate for a spa environment - Takes ownership of responsibilities and follows through on commitments - Communicates openly, advocates for themselves, and maintains healthy professional boundaries - Comfortable respectfully holding themselves, teammates, and clients accountable to established policies and expectations - Strong customer service, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills - Maintains treatment spaces and contributes to the overall cleanliness and organization of the spa - Demonstrates initiative and uses downtime productively Teamwork & Community - Friendly, approachable, socially engaging, and genuinely enjoys connecting with people - Excited to share knowledge, techniques, and professional experience with teammates - Open to constructive feedback, mentorship, collaboration, and continued education - Demonstrates passion and pride in being an esthetician or sugaring professional - Respects and affirms clients of all genders, identities, backgrounds, and abilities - Comfortable participating in occasional community events, pop-up markets, educational workshops, and other engagement opportunities - Willing to contribute creative ideas for services, promotions, events, and client experiences - Comfortable with professional self-marketing, client retention, and helping grow their own clientele Qualifications - Required: - Active Washington State esthetician or master esthetician license - Professional experience providing the services for which you're applying - Ability to perform lash lifts/tints and brow laminations - Strong knowledge of sanitation, disinfection, and client safety protocols - Excellent communication, consultation, and customer service skills - Ability to work at least one weekend day per month - Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team - For sugaring applicants: demonstrated experience and comfort providing hair removal services for clients of all genders, including intimate sugaring on all anatomies Additional Experience Welcome We especially encourage applicants who also have training, licensing, or professional experience in: - Massage therapy - Reiki or energy work - Holistic wellness or other healing modalities - Oncology-informed skincare or specialized sensitive-skin treatments - Wellness education, workshops, or community programming Additional modalities are a bonus, not a requirement, and must be practiced within the appropriate professional scope and licensing requirements.
