Located just minutes from Hoxton Square in the heart of East London’s vibrant creative district, our hotel offers a unique and dynamic setting featuring a rooftop terrace with stunning London skyline views, the stylish Jailhouse Bar, an exclusive Private Members Bar, a 200-seat cinema, and a bowling alley. We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and commercially focused Events Operations Supervisor to lead the day-to-day delivery of meetings, events, and functions. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth and successful operation of events, delivering exceptional guest experiences, supporting revenue performance, and building a motivated, high-performing team within a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment. Key Responsibilities: To follow and carry out instructions given by the Events Operations Manager in relation to setting up rooms, preparing food and beverages and operating equipment for events at the Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch. To be able to read and understand a function sheet to determine the clients’ requirements, and to liaise with the Events Manager or Events Coordinator about any queries. To have a good understanding of the equipment, technology and IT used in function rooms. To have a working knowledge of the IT systems used at the hotel. To look after meetings and events where appropriate, always ensuring that a personal and memorable service is offered so that guests will want to return to the Courthouse Hotel. To ensure that guests’ satisfaction is checked during their event. Ensure organisation and tidiness of back of house areas at all times. Handle cashing up if required. Assist the Events Operations Manager with the monthly stock take of operating equipment. To attend any meetings and training sessions as required. To ensure that positive relationships are established and maintained with all other departments at the Courthouse Hotel. To respond and act on any reasonable request made by the Events Operations Manager in accordance with the standard operating procedures of the Hotel. Experience Proven experience in event management or hospitality roles such as restaurant or hotel operations with a focus on large-scale events or banquets Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, vendors, team members, and guests effectively Demonstrated ability in upselling services or products to enhance guest experiences and revenue streams Prior experience in guest services within hospitality environments ensures a guest-centric approach to event management Knowledge of time management techniques that enable efficient planning and execution of complex events Additional Information Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and key trading periods is essential Oversee and support the wider operation of the hotel in line with business needs, including bar and restaurant operations, ensuring effective coordination between departments, smooth day-to-day operations, and consistently high standards of service and guest experience across all areas.
