Event Operations Lead – Premium Catering Events

Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable, professional, and highly responsible Event Operations Lead to independently execute our gelato catering experiences throughout Palm Beach County and occasionally beyond.

Our gelato carts are featured at weddings, corporate events, luxury hotels, country clubs, upscale event venues, and private residences. This is not simply a serving position. After completing training, you will be trusted to manage the full on-site execution and logistics of an event , from collecting and transporting the equipment to coordinating with venue staff, serving guests, and returning everything after the event.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who already has a flexible daytime job or schedule and is looking to earn additional income through evening and weekend event work. Events are scheduled in advance, allowing you to plan your availability accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

As an Event Operations Lead, you will be responsible for the complete execution of assigned events, including:

• Pick up the company vehicle, trailer, gelato cart, and required event supplies.
• Safely drive a company vehicle while towing a small enclosed trailer to and from event locations.
• Load, unload, and maneuver our gelato carts and equipment.
• Arrive at venues on time and coordinate directly with venue staff, planners, catering teams, and other event professionals regarding access, setup, and event logistics.
• Complete the full setup of the gelato cart and service area according to our presentation standards.
• Professionally serve gelato to guests while providing excellent customer service.
• Represent Gelato&Co. professionally in appearance, communication, and demeanor at all times.
• Break down and properly pack all equipment following service.
• Safely transport the cart, trailer, and equipment back to their designated locations.
• Ensure equipment is returned clean, organized, and ready for the next event.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who can be trusted to independently represent our company at high-end events. The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous professional work experience, preferably in hospitality, catering, hotels, restaurants, events, or another customer-facing service environment .
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and take responsibility for an event from beginning to end.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Confidence driving a vehicle while towing a small enclosed trailer - training will be provided.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to professionally coordinate with venue staff and clients.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position and applicants must be comfortable with the physical requirements of transporting and setting up event equipment.

The ability to safely push and maneuver our gelato carts up a trailer ramp is a non-negotiable requirement of this position. The movement is comparable to a weighted sled push and requires adequate strength, balance, and physical conditioning.

Candidates must also be able to:

• Push and maneuver carts across event venues and uneven surfaces when necessary.
• Load and unload equipment using a trailer ramp.
• Lift and carry event supplies and boxes weighing up to approximately 40 lbs.
• Remain standing and active throughout event setup, service, and breakdown.

Schedule

This is a part-time, on-call event position with variable hours rather than a fixed weekly schedule.

Events are communicated well in advance so that you can plan your schedule and confirm availability. Once you commit to an event, reliability and attendance are expected.

The number of events varies depending on the season. Some weeks may include 3–4 events , while others may have only 1–2 events . Our busiest season generally runs from January through June .

Most events take place on weekends and during the afternoon, evening, or nighttime hours . Because gelato is frequently served toward the end of weddings and other events, service may occur around 9–11 PM , followed by breakdown and transportation of the equipment back to its designated location.

Candidates should therefore be comfortable with occasional late nights and weekend work.

Transportation

A company vehicle will be provided for event transportation. You will be responsible for driving the vehicle and towing a small enclosed trailer containing the gelato cart and event equipment.

You do not need to use your personal vehicle for towing, but you must have reliable transportation to reach the designated pickup location.

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4.0 – 24.0 per week
