# Estimation Engineer - Mechanical **WALCO MIDDLE EAST - LC** · Doha · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: вчера* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Estimation Engineer - Mechanical Job Responsibilities: Analyze project plans, specifications, P&ID, Mechanical drawings, and technical documents to prepare accurate and timely cost estimates. Prepare BOQs, cost breakdowns, and detailed estimation reports aligned with project and tender requirements. Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical projects in Oil & Gas, Power Plants, Marine, and industrial facilities. Estimate costs for activities including: Mechanical maintenance and refurbishment Valve testing, repair and overhaul Pumps, compressors and rotating equipment maintenance Static equipment maintenance Piping fabrication and installation Structural steel fabrication and erection Shutdown and turnaround activities Pressure safety valve (PSV) testing and overhaul Hydrotesting and pressure testing Pipeline and piping pre-commissioning activities Marine mechanical repair and maintenance Prepare material take-offs (MTO) from drawings, specifications, and site surveys. Develop detailed estimates covering manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors, logistics, consumables, and indirect costs. Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors. Conduct technical and commercial comparisons of vendor quotations. Coordinate with engineering, operations, procurement, workshop, and project teams for accurate estimation inputs. Attend site visits and clarification meetings to understand project requirements and site conditions. Identify project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and commercial conditions during the estimation stage. Prepare technical and commercial proposals in accordance with client requirements. Develop project execution methodology, preliminary schedules, manpower histograms, and equipment deployment plans where required. Ensure compliance with applicable client specifications, international standards, quality requirements, and HSE regulations. Participate in tender clarification meetings and respond to client technical and commercial queries. Prepare tender review documents and management approval summaries. Maintain an updated cost database for manpower rates, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and historical project costs. Conduct post-tender analysis and compare estimated costs against actual project costs. Support Business Development and Project teams with budgetary estimates and commercial inputs. Maintain proper records of enquiries, quotations, estimates, tender submissions, and awarded/lost opportunities. Assist in preparing variation order estimates, claims, and additional work proposals. Ensure all estimates are submitted within the required tender deadlines. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 5–10 years of experience in mechanical estimation within Oil & Gas, Power Plant, Marine, Petrochemical, or Industrial sectors. Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance, piping, valves, rotating/static equipment, and fabrication works. Experience in shutdown, turnaround, maintenance, and EPC projects is preferred. Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, GA drawings, datasheets, specifications, and BOQs. Good knowledge of estimation principles, costing, productivity norms, and resource planning. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other estimation/project management software. Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and commercial skills. Experience with major Oil & Gas clients, EPC contractors, and international standards will be an advantage.
