Estimation and Design Engineer

Senior MEP Estimation and Design Engineer Dubai, UAE | Full-Time

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Estimation and Design Engineer to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with a proven ability to lead cost estimation, tendering, and design coordination for projects across the UAE market.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender proposals for MEP packages (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems)
• Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to develop accurate pricing
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to obtain quotations and technical clarifications
• Lead design development and value engineering for MEP systems, ensuring compliance with UAE codes and standards (DEWA, Civil Defence, Trakhees, etc. as applicable)
• Analyze and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids
• Support the tendering process from bid preparation through submission and negotiation
• Mentor junior estimation and design engineers
• Liaise with project management and site teams to ensure design-to-execution alignment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• Minimum 8+ years of relevant MEP estimation and design experience, with substantial experience in the UAE market
• Strong knowledge of UAE regulatory bodies and approval processes (DEWA, Dubai Civil Defence, Trakhees, DDA, etc.)
• Proficiency in estimation software and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, MS Excel; experience with estimation platforms is a plus)
• Solid understanding of HVAC, fire fighting, plumbing, and electrical systems design and costing
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
• UAE driving license preferred
