We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering & Maintenance Department at our 4-star hotel.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and proven experience managing hotel engineering operations, building maintenance, energy conservation, and health and safety compliance. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all hotel facilities while maintaining high standards of guest comfort, safety, and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, back-of-house areas, and building facilities.
• Manage and maintain all MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical installations, plumbing, pumps, water systems, and other critical equipment.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Lead, supervise, and develop the engineering team, including supervisors, technicians, and outsourced contractors.
• Ensure timely resolution of guest complaints and maintenance requests to minimize operational disruptions.
• Monitor the performance and condition of hotel equipment and coordinate repairs, replacements, and capital improvement projects.
• Prepare and manage the department's annual budget, operating expenses, capital expenditure plans, and maintenance contracts.
• Implement energy and water conservation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce utility costs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable local regulations, fire and life safety requirements, environmental standards, and hotel policies.
• Maintain accurate engineering records, maintenance reports, equipment inventories, inspection logs, and statutory documentation.
• Coordinate with other departments, including Rooms, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Finance, to support hotel operations.
• Manage service contracts, supplier relationships, spare parts inventory, and procurement requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain the hotel's facilities in excellent operating condition.
• Support hotel refurbishment projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within the hospitality industry, including previous leadership or departmental management experience.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, building maintenance, BMS, and hotel engineering operations.
• Proven ability to manage engineering teams, maintenance budgets, contractors, and service agreements.
• Experience developing preventive maintenance plans and managing capital expenditure projects.
• Good understanding of fire and life safety, occupational health and safety, and applicable local compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, leadership, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• UAE or GCC hotel experience will be an advantage.
