# Embedded Systems Software Test Engineer Python Automation **Infotron** · Kalamazoo, MI 49001 · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: вчера* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Embedded Systems Software Test Engineer – Python Automation Location: Kalamazoo, MI – Onsite Employment Type: Contract Contract Duration: 6 months, with potential for extension Type: On-site (5 days a week) Position Overview Important Candidate Profile - We are specifically seeking engineers with experience testing embedded systems and physical hardware products. - Candidates whose experience is primarily focused on enterprise IT applications, business web applications, browser-based QA, or general software QA without embedded/hardware product experience are unlikely to be a fit for this position. - The strongest candidates will have built Python-based automated testing solutions that interact directly with embedded devices, hardware products, communication protocols, and APIs. Key Responsibilities - Design and develop automated test software for embedded systems and hardware products using Python. - Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites using Python and Pytest . - Test communication and interaction between embedded software, edge devices, APIs, and hardware components. - Perform API testing , including REST/HTTP and SOAP web services. - Develop and execute tests involving CAN communication protocols . - Use tools such as ReadyAPI for API and web-service testing. - Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing of embedded products. - Troubleshoot failures involving software, firmware, device communications, and hardware interfaces. - Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub runners . - Analyze test results, document defects, and collaborate with embedded software, firmware, systems, and hardware engineering teams. - Support product verification and validation activities in accordance with applicable quality and engineering processes. Required Qualifications - Strong professional experience in embedded systems software testing and test automation . - Hands-on experience writing automated test code using Python . - Strong experience with Pytest or similar Python-based test frameworks. - Experience testing physical hardware products, embedded devices, or edge devices . - Experience with CAN communication protocols . - Experience with API testing , including HTTP-based APIs. - Experience testing SOAP web services . - Experience with ReadyAPI or similar API testing tools. - Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines , preferably using GitHub runners . - Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across software/hardware interfaces. Preferred Qualifications - Experience developing or executing automated tests for medical devices . - Experience working within a regulated product-development environment , such as: - Medical devices - Automotive - Aerospace - Defense - Understanding of verification and validation practices for embedded products. - Experience testing connected or network-enabled hardware products. - Wi-Fi and RF testing experience is a strong plus.
