Test it. Develop your skills. At TBG Solutions we operate in some of the most regulated and complex indsutries accross the world. We're expanding and as a result are now looking for a hands-on, practical and motivated Electromechanical Assembly Technician to join our engineering team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a practical background in electrical assembly, panel wiring, soldering or mechanical assembly who wants to build their experience and develop a long-term career in a professional engineering environment. You don’t need to know everything from day one. Full training, mentoring and ongoing support will be provided, with opportunities to work towards recognised industry qualifications such as IPC certification. What you’ll be doing Working from engineering drawings, wiring schedules and build instructions, you’ll be involved in the manufacture and assembly of bespoke electrical and electro-mechanical test equipment. Your role will include: - Wiring electrical panels to a high standard, including point-to-point wiring and loom assembly. - Soldering components and connectors to recognised quality standards. - Mechanical assembly of enclosures, fixtures and electro-mechanical components. - Learning to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and assembly drawings. - Supporting engineers with prototype builds and design changes. - Modifying and reworking assemblies as designs develop. - Carrying out basic electrical testing and fault-finding, with training provided. - Using manual workshop equipment such as drills, saws and files. - Maintaining excellent standards of workmanship, safety and cleanliness. - Developing your technical skills through hands-on training, mentoring and supported qualifications. Because we specialise in bespoke, low-volume equipment, no two builds are necessarily the same. Designs can change as customer requirements evolve, so you’ll need to be comfortable adapting, solving problems and working in a changing environment. What we’re looking for We’re interested in people who are practical, reliable and keen to learn. You’ll ideally have: - Some practical experience in electrical assembly, panel wiring, soldering or mechanical assembly, whether gained through employment, an apprenticeship, college or training. - Basic soldering skills, or the aptitude and willingness to develop them. - Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work. - The ability to work from technical drawings and documentation, or the willingness to learn. - A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving. - GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English. - Basic PC skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Experience in defence, automotive or power industries, bespoke/low-volume manufacturing, electrical testing or fault-finding would be advantageous, as would a relevant Level 2/3 engineering qualification or apprenticeship. IPC certification and 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) are desirable, but not essential. The person We’re looking for someone who is: - Methodical and organised, with excellent attention to detail. - Adaptable and resilient when designs or requirements change. - Positive and proactive when solving problems. - Comfortable working independently while also being a strong team player. - Willing to ask questions, learn from experienced colleagues and act on feedback. - Able to organise and prioritise their workload. - A clear and effective communicator.
