Job Summary: The Electrical Site Engineer for Diesel Generators will oversee the electrical installation, commissioning, and maintenance of diesel generator systems at various project sites. This role involves ensuring that all electrical works are completed according to specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The Electrical Site Engineer will collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of diesel generator projects. Key Responsibilities: Site Management and Supervision: Supervise and coordinate all electrical activities related to the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of diesel generators at project sites. Ensure all electrical works meet local electrical codes, safety standards, and client specifications Oversee and guide electrical technicians and subcontractors, during site operations Electrical Installation & Commissioning: Lead electrical installation of diesel generators, control panels, switchgear, and associated components Perform testing and commissioning of diesel generator electrical systems to ensure correct operation Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during the commissioning phase. Design and Technical Support: Review electrical designs and schematics for diesel generator systems to ensure proper implementation on-site. Provide technical advice and recommendations to optimize system performance and address site-specific challenges Assist with the system integration and modifications as needed to meet operational requirements Project Coordination: Coordinate electrical works with other engineering disciplines and project teams to ensure timely project completion. Liaise with clients and contractors to discuss progress, timelines, and any changes required to the project. Prepare and submit progress reports and technical documentation to the Management Safety and Compliance: Ensure all electrical installations comply with safety regulations,electrical codes,and industry standards. Conduct regular safety audits and address potential electrical hazards. Ensure the team adheres to company health, safety and environmental policies Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Provide ongoing electrical maintenance and troubleshooting support for diesel generators Respond to emergency repair requests and perform fault diagnosis on generator electrical systems. Perform regular inspections and recommend upgrades or replacements of electrical components when necessary QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, or Power Engineering, or related field. Preferably with experience in Electrical Engineering, with focus on diesel generators or power generation systems. Experience with Electrical design, installation, and commissioning of diesel generator systems Strong knowledge of electrical codes,standards, and safety regulations (e.g. NEC, IEC) Familiarity with generator control systems, ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch), and switchgear. Proficient in the use of electrical testing and diagnostic tools. Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
