Editorial Production Lead (Research, Shoot Briefs & Post-Production)
Robot24.com, Dubai, UAE (On-site)
Experience: 8 to 12 years
About the Role
Robot24.com is looking for a hands-on Editorial Producer who is curious about robots, AI and the technology shaping the future. You research the story, write the brief, review the footage and tell the editors exactly what to cut, down to the second.
You will personally research and write detailed shoot briefs for short-form and long-form video, review raw footage from our correspondents and camera crews around the world, extract precise timestamps, and prepare comprehensive post-production editing briefs for our video editors. You will shape content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X and Facebook.
This is not a role for someone who manages from a distance. You do the work yourself, you lead by example, and you hold every video to our standard: robotics should be exciting, but never fake.
Your Responsibilities
- Personally research robotics companies, products, people and technologies to find accurate, source-based story angles
- Write detailed shoot briefs for short-form videos (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
- Write detailed shoot briefs for long-form YouTube features, interviews and mini-documentaries
- Define in every brief the story objective, hook, key messages, interview questions, shot list, b-roll, locations and technical notes
- Brief correspondents and camera crews worldwide before each shoot and support them in the field
- Review all raw footage, interviews and b-roll as it comes in
- Extract precise timestamps for the strongest soundbites, reactions, product demos and visual moments
- Flag technical problems (audio, focus, framing) and factual concerns, and request pickups or reshoots when needed
- Prepare comprehensive post-production editing briefs: structure, timestamped selects, sequence order, hook, captions, voiceover, graphics, music direction and target duration
- Create separate cut-down briefs for each platform, format, length and aspect ratio (16:9, 9:16, 1:1)
- Review rough cuts and final cuts for accuracy, story, pacing and brand standards, and give clear, consolidated feedback
- Write or approve titles, hooks, captions, descriptions, thumbnails and hashtags for every platform
- Use platform data (retention, watch time, shares) to improve every brief
- Own the video production calendar from idea to publish and keep every deadline on track
- Build and maintain brief templates, footage logs and asset libraries
- Mentor junior producers and work closely with the Editorial, Social Media, Production and Video Editing teams
You Must Have
- 8 to 12 years of experience in editorial video production at a newsroom, digital publisher, broadcaster or production house
- Proven experience personally writing shoot briefs and post-production editing briefs for both short-form and long-form video
- Strong experience reviewing raw footage and logging precise timecodes and selects
- A portfolio of briefs you wrote and the videos produced from them
- Excellent research skills and the ability to turn complex tech topics into clear, accurate stories
- Strong understanding of post-production workflows and tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro)
- Know-how of ALL major social media channels: formats, safe zones, algorithms, trends and what works where
- Strong sense of hooks, pacing and retention
- Sharp editorial judgement and a zero-tolerance approach to hype and inaccuracy
- Ability to manage several productions at once under daily news deadlines
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Excellent attention to detail
Highly Desirable
- Social media management experience: running channels, planning content calendars and growing audiences
- Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Production, Film or a related field
- Experience in tech, science or business journalism
- Familiarity with platform analytics (YouTube Studio, Meta Business Suite, TikTok Analytics or similar)
- Experience coordinating remote or international camera crews across time zones
- Basic editing skills to build rough cuts or select reels when needed
- Experience with AI tools for research, transcription or footage logging
- Frame.io or similar review platforms
What Matters Most
Writing a brief is the baseline. We want someone who looks at a topic, a shoot or hours of raw footage and instantly knows:
- Where is the story?
- What is the hook?
- What shots and questions do we need to capture it?
- Which 8 seconds of this interview actually matter?
- How should this be cut differently for YouTube, Reels and LinkedIn?
You should be equally at home researching a robotics startup, briefing a camera crew in another time zone, logging a 90-minute interview and writing an edit brief for a fast 30 second Reel.
Who Will Succeed
You notice when a timestamp is off by two seconds or a claim cannot be backed up. You know great video starts long before the edit, with the right research, the right questions and the right shots. You follow the latest in tech, AI and social media because you genuinely find them exciting. You give clear feedback, take it well, and don't need anyone to tell you what the next story should be.
To Apply, Please Submit

- Examples of social media channels or content you managed, if you have them
- Performance numbers for your videos if you have them (views, retention, shares)
- A short note on your exact role in each example
