About Us

We're a small, profitable internet company with a portfolio of web properties, mostly in the Medicare and insurance space:

  • The flagship is a national directory of Medicare insurance agents , the largest in its niche. It's our biggest property and gets the most of your time.
  • A consumer-facing Medicare site that helps people turning 65 connect with licensed agents in their area.
  • A newer directory for life insurance agents.
  • A long-running nursing publication that publishes submissions from nurses across the country.
  • And a few other smaller properties.

Our content operation runs on AI-assisted workflows that are already well built and produce a lot of material every day. What we're missing is the person who takes all of it and makes sure it ships, is good, and moves the needle.

The Role

You'll run the content engine for our properties, both what we publish on our own sites and what gets said about us everywhere else. You set the editorial direction, edit and approve what goes live, keep our important pages current, and build our authority on other sites.

This is not a role where someone hands you a task list every morning. You'll be largely self-directed. You figure out what matters most, make a plan, execute it, and report back to the owners on what got done, why you did it, and how earlier work is performing. We're around for quick feedback, but often not right away.

What You'll Do

On-site content (our properties)

  • Publish new content and update existing content every day, starting in your first week.
  • Edit and approve AI-generated drafts, sharpening them where needed and sending back what isn't good enough.
  • Keep our pillar pages and highest-traffic articles current. Medicare rules and figures change every year, and our content needs to change with them.
  • Decide what to write, what to update, and what to merge or retire, based on the search performance insights our tools give you.
  • Improve the calls-to-action on our informational pages. They get a lot of traffic and need to convert better.
  • Manage guest and contributor submissions, including communicating with the writers, editing their pieces, and getting them published.
  • Write directly when it matters most, such as cornerstone pieces, sensitive topics, or anything that needs a strong human voice.

Off-site authority and outreach

  • Pitch and place articles in industry trade publications.
  • Write and distribute press releases.
  • Build backlinks, brand mentions, and traffic partnerships through legitimate outreach.
  • Communicate with guest publishers and partner sites.
  • Support social media and reputation management for our brands.

Audience communication

  • Build and run email newsletters for our two audiences: the insurance agents who list with us and the consumers who use our sites.

Be the face of the content

  • Serve as the named author and/or editorial reviewer on articles across our properties. In health and finance topics, readers and search engines both want to see a real, accountable person behind the content. You'll have a bio, a headshot, and a public professional presence tied to the work.

Make the system better

  • Tell us where the AI workflows fall short. If the drafts keep getting the same thing wrong, that should become a fix to the system, not something you edit by hand forever.
  • Run content jobs on demand by giving our tools plain-language instructions. No coding required.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of new workflows.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 4+ years in editorial, content management, or content marketing , with real ownership of a publication, blog, or content program (not just writing assigned pieces).
  • Excellent writing and editing. You can turn an average draft into a good one quickly.
  • Speed with good judgment. You know which claims need a second look and where to check them, and you get the piece out the door.
  • Comfort working with AI tools every day. You don't need to be technical, but if you're resistant to AI-assisted workflows, this won't be a fit. Most of your raw material will come from automation.
  • A solid understanding of how SEO works and why: search intent, on-page optimization, internal linking, content freshness, and authority. Our tools handle the data crunching. You need to know what to do with it.
  • Self-directed and reliable. You work without someone checking in on you, you stay on top of a daily cadence, and you keep the owners updated without being asked.
  • Willing to publish under your own name as author/reviewer across our properties.

Strongly preferred

  • Experience with Medicare, health insurance, or financial services content , or another vertical where accuracy has real consequences.
  • Familiarity with insurance marketing compliance .
  • Experience with digital PR, link building, or pitching trade publications .
  • Marketing experience , especially CTAs, conversion optimization, email campaigns, or landing pages.
  • Experience managing contributor submissions and working with outside writers.

Nice to have

  • Experience with email platforms.
  • Basic HTML comfort.
  • An insurance license, or experience working with insurance agents.

How We Work

  • Fully remote , with most communication in team chat. You need to be on it and responsive during the workday.
  • Small team, and you work directly with the owners. They're busy and often unreachable for stretches, so you need to keep things moving without them.
  • You report results, not activity. Send regular updates on what you shipped, why you prioritized it, and how your earlier work is performing.
  • Real impact. Our sites already get significant traffic, so your work shows up quickly in rankings, leads, and revenue.

What Success Looks Like

Day 1: You're publishing. We'll get you access, walk you through the workflow, and you'll ship something.

Week 1: You're running the daily publishing and update cadence, asking good questions, and you've sent us your plan for the flagship property: what you'd fix first and why.

First 90 days: Your plan is in motion and you've adjusted it as you learned what works. The first off-site placements and press releases are live, your author profile is up across our properties, and CTA improvements are shipped on our top pages. Every week you can show us what moved.

Ongoing: Clear, measurable growth in traffic, leads, and authority across our main properties, plus a recognized presence in the industry.

Compensation & Terms

  • $80,000 – $90,000 base salary, depending on experience
  • Room to grow as we set performance targets together
  • 90-day introductory period
  • Fully remote, with flexible hours inside an Eastern Time overlap

How to Apply

Send us:

  • Your resume
  • 2–3 samples of content you edited or owned (links preferred). If something was AI-assisted, tell us how.
  • A short note (no more than 200 words) on why you're the person who can take this and run with it

Finalists will complete a short paid editing exercise .

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
