HABITAT FOR HUMANITY VISION AND MISSION The vision of Habitat for Humanity is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. The mission statement is: “Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity bring people together to build homes, community, and hope!” This mission is accomplished primarily through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, to build and rehabilitate houses for families in need of affordable housing. It is meant to be a hand-up, not a hand-out, in that the new homeowner is asked to spend a significant number of hours working on his or her new home and will be asked to repay a loan for the cost of the home. ABOUT DUPAGE & CHICAGO SOUTH SUBURBS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY The DuPage and Chicago South Suburbs Habitat for Humanity provides decent affordable housing to those in need who either reside in the state of Illinois, specifically in DuPage County and Chicago South Suburbs. Headquartered in Wheaton and Oak Forest, the affiliate has served over 300 families since its inception and has plans to grow in capacity to serve over 40 additional families per year. DCSSHFH operates under the umbrella of HFHI, but is solely responsible for funding its operation, choosing partner families, constructing, or rehabbing homes and ensuring the success of its partner families in DuPage County and Chicago South Suburbs. POSITION SUMMARY The E-Commerce & Digital Marketing Coordinator supports the growth, visibility, and digital presence of DuPage & Chicago South Suburbs Habitat for Humanity, with a primary focus on ReStore e-commerce, digital marketing, and content creation. This position manages online merchandise listings, supports Shopify and website operations, creates engaging digital content, and uses marketing and sales data to strengthen online performance, customer engagement, and ReStore revenue. The Coordinator also supports affiliate-wide marketing and communications initiatives, including social media, email campaigns, events, fundraising, volunteer engagement, photography, video, and other promotional efforts. This position works closely with ReStore leadership and staff, as well as departments throughout the affiliate, to promote merchandise, tell compelling stories, engage the community, and advance Habitat for Humanity's mission. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. ReStore Responsibilities · Manage ReStore e-commerce operations through Shopify and other designated online sales platforms. · Photograph, price, categorize, write descriptions for, and upload merchandise for online sale. · Maintain accurate, appealing, and current online product listings and inventory in coordination with ReStore staff. · Develop and improve processes for online merchandising, product listings, pricing, and fulfillment. · Collaborate with ReStore leadership to establish and achieve e-commerce sales, listing, and revenue goals. · Analyze sales, inventory, website, and customer data to identify opportunities to improve online sales and the customer experience. · Assist with online promotions, sales campaigns, order fulfillment, and customer communications. · Create and publish ReStore content for social media, websites, email, and other digital platforms, including photography, graphics, and short-form video. · Maintain ReStore content calendars and ensure consistent branding, messaging, and timely publication of content. · Maintain and update ReStore website and Shopify content, including products, promotions, store information, and other customer-facing materials. · Monitor digital platforms for accuracy, functionality, and customer-experience issues and assist with basic SEO and technical improvements. · Develop and distribute ReStore email communications and targeted digital campaigns. · Maintain a regular presence at ReStore locations to identify merchandise, stories, promotions, and other content opportunities. · Work with Store Managers and ReStore staff to promote unique, seasonal, and high-value merchandise and initiatives. · Participate in content-production days, ReStore meetings, special events, promotions, and other projects as assigned. · Travel between ReStore locations as needed. 2. Affiliate Responsibilities · Support affiliate-wide marketing and communications initiatives in collaboration with organizational leadership and the Communications & Marketing Manager. · Create and coordinate digital content supporting Habitat’s housing programs, fundraising, volunteer opportunities, events, and other organizational priorities. · Assist with social media, email communications, website updates, newsletters, and other digital marketing efforts. · Develop or assist with marketing materials, including graphics, photography, video, presentations, flyers, and signage. · Collaborate with affiliate teams to identify stories and content opportunities while maintaining consistent branding, messaging, and visual standards. · Support special events, fundraising campaigns, and other organizational marketing initiatives as needed. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Qualifications: · 1 to 3 years of experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, social media, communications, content creation, or a related field. · Experience creating digital content for social media, websites, and email. · Strong writing, copywriting, photography, and basic video-production skills. · Experience with e-commerce platforms, preferably Shopify, and graphic design tools such as Canva. · Basic understanding of digital marketing, e-commerce analytics, and online merchandising. · Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. · Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with staff across departments. · Strong interpersonal and communication skills. · Ability to learn new technology and digital platforms quickly. · Ability to travel between ReStore locations and work occasional evenings or weekends as needed. · Experience in retail, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations is preferred.
