# Driver cum Delivery Assistant **Sophia Home By Patina Interior** · Abu Dhabi · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: вчера* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Job Summary Sophia Home, one of the leading furniture stores in the UAE, is looking for a full-time Driver cum Delivery Assistant to support the safe and timely delivery of furniture and other products to customers, showrooms, warehouses, and project sites. The role involves driving company vehicles, loading and unloading furniture, assisting with deliveries and installations where required, maintaining vehicle safety, and providing professional customer service. Key Responsibilities 1. Vehicle Operation & Delivery Logistics Safely operate light/medium commercial vehicles, such as panel vans, pickup trucks, and 3-ton trucks, for assigned deliveries. Follow assigned delivery schedules and routes and ensure timely arrival at customer locations, showrooms, warehouses, and project sites. Strictly comply with UAE traffic laws, speed limits, parking regulations, and road safety requirements. Use GPS and navigation applications to plan efficient delivery routes and minimize unnecessary travel and fuel consumption. Ensure the vehicle is driven responsibly and safely at all times. 2. Cargo Loading, Handling & Unloading Assist in loading, securing, arranging, and organizing furniture and other products inside the vehicle to prevent movement or damage during transportation. Check delivery items against delivery notes, invoices, pick lists, or other relevant documents before leaving the warehouse/showroom. Safely unload and carefully place furniture and other items at customer premises, project sites, or designated delivery locations. Handle fragile, bulky, high-value, and delicate items with appropriate care. Assist the delivery team with moving furniture into the designated location when required. Report any missing, damaged, or incorrect items immediately to the supervisor before completing the delivery. 3. Vehicle Maintenance & Safety Inspection Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking oil levels, tire pressure, brakes, lights, mirrors, and general vehicle condition. Keep the vehicle clean and presentable, both internally and externally. Immediately report any mechanical problems, accidents, traffic violations, or maintenance requirements to the supervisor. Ensure vehicle registration, insurance, service records, toll/Salik account, and other required documents are valid and available. Follow the company's vehicle safety and maintenance procedures. 4. Customer Service & Delivery Documentation Obtain customer signatures, delivery confirmations, or Proof of Delivery (POD) upon successful completion of deliveries. Communicate politely and professionally with customers, site managers, showroom staff, warehouse staff, and other team members. Confirm the correct delivery location and items with the customer before unloading. Handle minor customer queries professionally and refer complaints, disputes, damaged goods, or other issues to the supervisor/management. Maintain accurate delivery records and submit all completed delivery documents as required. 5. Furniture Delivery & Installation Support Assist the delivery team with the safe movement and positioning of furniture at customer premises and project sites. Assist with basic furniture assembly or installation activities when required and when properly trained. Take reasonable precautions to protect customer premises, including floors, walls, doors, and other property, during delivery. Ensure all packaging materials and delivery-related waste are properly collected or disposed of as instructed. 6. General Duties Follow company policies, procedures, and instructions from the supervisor/management. Maintain a professional appearance and courteous behavior when representing Sophia Home. Assist the warehouse, showroom, and delivery team with other reasonable tasks related to the delivery operation. Maintain confidentiality regarding customer information, delivery schedules, and company operations. Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by the management. Required Qualifications & Skills Valid UAE driving license suitable for the company vehicle. Previous experience as a driver, delivery driver, furniture delivery assistant, or similar role is preferred. Good knowledge of UAE roads, locations, and traffic regulations. Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving furniture and other heavy items safely. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to follow delivery schedules, instructions, and documentation accurately. Responsible, punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or public holidays when required by business operations. Basic English communication skills are required and knowledge of additional languages is an advantage. Reporting To Warehouse Operations Manager/Assigned Supervisors Pay: From AED2,500.00 per month Work Location: In person
