Director of Site Operations, Construction Services

Position Summary The Director of Site Operations provides strategic leadership, governance, and operational oversight for all site leadership teams across Canada, including Site Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents. This role is responsible for driving national consistency in field execution, optimizing resource scheduling, maintaining rigorous safety standards, and ensuring strict accuracy in project labor billing. The ideal candidate brings extensive executive field experience within commercial interiors and a proven track record of managing multi-provincial project footprints. Key Responsibilities National Resource Planning: Build, maintain, and execute comprehensive national site resourcing plans to optimize field team utilization and balance talent ratios on the ground across all active jobsites. Billing Accountability: Oversee and maintain strict accuracy on job billing metrics for all site teams, ensuring hours allocated match specific project metrics and project budgets precisely. Regional Pre-Planning & Logistics: Partner directly with regional operations leads (including Ontario and Quebec) on localized site logistics planning, evaluating hour requirements, and pre-planning field mobilizations. Field Leadership & Development: Oversee the recruitment, training, performance management, and continuous mentorship of all site superintendents and assistant superintendents coast-to-coast. Health & Safety Program Ownership: Enforce national H&S compliance, lead cross-regional safety audits, and cultivate an absolute zero-injury safety culture across all field operations. Trade Partner Performance: Establish and manage a standardized sub-contractor feedback and scoring framework to ensure top-tier quality control and vendor accountability nationwide National Operational Oversight: Maintain a structured travel schedule across Canadian operational hubs to audit active jobsites, resolve field friction, and ensure alignment with corporate execution standards. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: Minimum 10–15 years of progressive construction leadership experience, with a heavy emphasis on commercial interiors, general contracting, and managing multi-million dollar corporate accounts. Field Expertise: Deep operational knowledge of site logistics planning, scheduling, superintendent management, labor forecasting, and field health & safety management. Financial Acumen: Strong experience managing labor budgets, auditing job-costing metrics, and overseeing project billing processes. Mobility & Travel: Willingness and ability to travel extensively coast-to-coast to support national operational hubs and active sites. Leadership: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills; a natural team builder who can navigate cross-regional dynamics seamlessly. Compensation & Mobility Benefits Base Salary Range: $195,000 – $215,000 CAD per annum commensurate with experience. Executive Mobility Package: Given the high level of travel and multi-site field visitation requirements nationwide, the successful candidate will receive the provision of a company-issued BGIS pickup truck or a structured corporate car allowance package.
