# Director of Paid Media **Kind Creative** · Remote · `Remote` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 5 дней назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Director of Paid Media Kind Creative – Remote | Proposed Salary: $105,000 - $120,000 This is an exciting time to be at Kind Creative. We're growing, and our paid media department is ready for its next chapter. We're looking for a Director of Paid Media who's excited to help shape what that looks like and who can connect department-wide strategy to hands-on execution and measurable business outcomes. You'll have real room to make this your own and build upon the successful processes and strategies we have in place and the way Kind delivers paid media to the behavioral health programs we serve. You’ll lead the direction, quality, and effectiveness of paid media across our client portfolio. Not many roles come with that kind of open canvas (we think that's the fun part). In the beginning, the role will be more hands-on and client-facing, owning accounts, working in the platforms, and leading client conversations. You’ll be successful at this role if you love interacting with people, educating, getting your hands dirty, and setting strategic direction. The goal is to continue to expand the team, so your focus can shift from day-to-day client work to leading the function. We'll build that path together. This is a leadership position. At Kind, our leaders understand the details, make informed decisions, and execute when the situation requires it. Kind is not a large corporation, we are a boutique and fast growing marketing agency powered by A-players who nerd out about their jobs and want to make a positive and meaningful difference in the world. The Role You will serve as the agency-wide authority for paid media strategy, performance, and delivery. You are responsible for ensuring our approach is effective, our recommendations are grounded in data, our execution meets a high standard, and our clients understand how marketing performance connects to their business goals. You will partner with agency leadership, Performance Managers, Paid Media Specialists, and Client Experience Managers to establish priorities, improve delivery, and support client growth. In the beginning, you’ll work directly with clients and own the work yourself. Over time, as you build out the department, your focus will move from doing the client work to leading the people who do it. This includes owning complex campaign strategy and execution, analyzing performance, troubleshooting technical issues, connecting advertising data to downstream business outcomes, and leading difficult client conversations. Leadership in this role means taking ownership of both the direction and the outcome—not simply delegating the work and reviewing it afterward. Key Responsibilities Department Strategy & Performance Leadership — 20% - Establish and evolve Kind's paid media strategy, standards, and approach to campaign management across the client portfolio. - Set expectations for account strategy, performance analysis, optimization, testing, reporting, and quality assurance. - Guide account-level strategy and oversee performance trends, identifying risks and opportunities across clients. - Develop strategic recommendations for budget allocation, channel expansion, testing, and account growth. - Evaluate emerging platforms, automation, and acquisition opportunities based on their potential business impact. - Partner with agency leadership on paid media priorities, resource needs, service development, and business planning. - Establish repeatable processes that improve quality and consistency without creating unnecessary complexity. Hands-On Account Strategy, Analysis & Execution — 35% - Maintain direct ownership of complex, strategically important, or high-risk client accounts. - Personally analyze performance, diagnose problems, develop solutions, and implement campaign changes. - Work directly within advertising platforms to optimize campaigns, investigate issues, and execute strategic initiatives. - Lead complex campaign restructuring, testing, budget allocation, and performance recovery efforts. - Evaluate performance beyond clicks and leads, including lead quality, qualified opportunities, admissions, and cost per admit where data is available. - Step into execution when the work requires director-level expertise, when a performance issue demands immediate investigation, or when the quality of delivery is at risk. - Review account strategy and performance across the portfolio, providing direction where additional expertise or intervention is needed. - Ensure that strategic recommendations translate into practical, measurable action. Attribution, Technical Analysis & Business Outcomes — 15% - Lead investigations into complex conversion tracking, attribution, reporting, and data-quality issues. - Evaluate how advertising performance connects to qualified leads, admissions, and other downstream business outcomes. - Work with available CRM, call tracking, and admissions data to identify where performance is being gained or lost throughout the lead journey. - Identify measurement gaps and develop practical recommendations to improve visibility into marketing effectiveness. - Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to resolve technical issues and clarify data limitations. - Establish standards for interpreting and communicating performance when data is incomplete or unreliable. Delegation, Delivery Quality & Functional Leadership — 15% - Set clear expectations for Performance Managers and Paid Media Specialists regarding ownership, execution, documentation, and quality. - Determine which work should be delegated and which requires direct director involvement. - Establish and improve workflows, standard operating procedures, account management standards, and quality assurance processes. - Review work, provide actionable feedback, and address recurring delivery or performance issues. - Help prioritize workloads and resolve competing demands across accounts. - Coach team members and build their ability to make sound decisions independently. - Where formal direct reports are assigned, provide appropriate people management, including development, feedback, and performance accountability. - Maintain functional leadership of paid media regardless of the final reporting structure. Client Leadership, Executive Communication & New Business — 15% - Lead high-stakes client conversations, including discussions about performance gaps, lead quality, budget expectations, strategic changes, and business risks. - Confidently challenge assumptions and recommendations when the data or strategic rationale supports a different direction. - Establish appropriate boundaries around scope, expectations, and work that falls outside the agreed engagement. - Partner with Client Experience Managers to ensure clients receive clear, consistent communication and actionable recommendations. - Communicate paid media performance, risks, resource needs, and strategic priorities to the VP of Marketing, CEO, and executive leadership. - Lead or contribute directly to sales pitches, account audits, proposals, and strategic recommendations for prospective clients. - Help assess the feasibility, resourcing, and potential impact of new business opportunities. The percentages represent an approximate distribution of responsibilities over time. As a boutique agency, priorities will shift based on client needs, new business, technical issues, and team capacity. What We're Looking For - 6+ years of paid media experience, with deep expertise in paid search and experience across multiple client accounts. - Demonstrated ability to develop strategy and execute it directly, including complex campaign optimization and troubleshooting. - Strong understanding of how acquisition marketing connects to qualified leads, admissions, and business outcomes. - Experience evaluating lead quality and performance using advertising, call tracking, attribution, and CRM or admissions data. - Confidence leading executive-level client conversations, including challenging discussions about performance, strategy, and expectations. - Experience guiding other marketers, delegating work, reviewing quality, and establishing standards. - Ability to balance department-wide priorities with direct account ownership and execution. - Strong analytical judgment and the ability to make decisions with incomplete or imperfect data. - Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical and performance concepts in clear business language. - A proactive, adaptable approach to working in a small agency where leaders remain close to both the strategy and the details. Nice to Have - Experience with CallTrackingMetrics and/or CallRail. - Experience with CRM (Kipu, Dazos, Hubspot, Salesforce, etc) or admissions systems and connecting downstream business outcomes to marketing activity. - Experience with Meta, YouTube, programmatic, or other acquisition channels. - Experience developing paid media service offerings, internal processes, and delivery standards. - Experience with formal people management, performance reviews, and team development. - Experience with Legitscript, HIPAA compliance, and the restrictions of a protected industry.
