We are seeking a Director of Operations & Finance to lead the operational backbone of the group and partner strategically on finance. This is a senior leadership role with broad scope: owning supply chain, logistics, systems, processes, people operations, facilities, trade compliance, commercial operations, and cross-functional project delivery across all three entities. The Director will also provide senior finance oversight, partnering with the Finance Manager on strategy, controls, compliance, and treasury. The successful candidate will be a strategic yet hands-on operator who combines commercial sharpness with operational discipline. They will build and develop teams, drive execution excellence across the group, lead the systems and process agenda (including the ongoing ERP rollout), and act as a credible senior face of the business with auditors, banks, principals, and partners. The role offers substantial scope, visibility, and genuine growth potential. Key Responsibilities Operations Leadership ● Lead supply chain and logistics across the group (imports, exports, shipping, warehousing, inventory); drive reliability, cost efficiency, and service levels. ● Own procurement and vendor management: principal relationships, supplier terms, cost management, and strategic sourcing decisions. ● Lead systems and IT strategy: ERP (Microsoft Dynamics rollout and optimisation), process automation, digital tools, and the IT & Digital function. ● Drive process and SOP design across the business: build and maintain the operating system of the group with discipline, documentation, and accountability. ● Own people and HR operations: headcount planning, hiring frameworks, performance management, compensation structure, and organisational culture. ● Lead facilities and physical operations: office space, warehouses, insurance, and security across jurisdictions. ● Own trade compliance and risk management: insurance, trade finance, documentary risk, and regulatory compliance across Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the UAE. ● Lead commercial operations: sales operations, pricing discipline, and ownership of the order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes. ● Lead cross-functional projects including the ERP rollout, listing readiness workstreams, new entity setup, and transformation initiatives. Finance Oversight ● Review and approve finance deliverables (monthly accounts, cash flow, forecasts, budgets); challenge where needed and set the bar for quality. ● Partner with the Finance Manager on major commercial and financial decisions: pricing, credit, investment, treasury, and financing. ● Own financial strategy and planning: budgets, forecasts, scenario planning, capital allocation, and listing readiness workstream. ● Own audit, compliance, and governance across jurisdictions: external audit relationships, statutory compliance, risk register, and controls framework. ● Provide senior oversight on treasury and cash management: bank relationships, FX exposure, trade finance, and working capital posture. Requirements ● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field; MBA preferred. ● 12 to 15 years of hands-on experience, with a proven track record at Director level in a multi-entity or multi-jurisdictional business. ● FMCG, trading, or distribution industry experience strongly preferred; other industries considered where the operations and finance fundamentals are strong. ● Deep operations expertise across supply chain, logistics, systems, procurement, and process design; comfortable owning the full operating backbone of the business. ● Strong finance acumen: able to partner strategically with the Finance Manager, challenge numbers, own financial strategy, and lead audit and compliance oversight. ● Experience leading ERP implementation or optimisation (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) and driving systems and digital transformation at scale. ● Professional qualifications (MICPA, ACCA, CPA Australia, CIMA, or similar) are an advantage. ● Supply chain or operations certifications (APICS CSCP, CPIM, CLTD, Six Sigma, Lean, or similar) are an advantage. ● Strategic thinker: connects operational decisions to commercial outcomes and the long-term growth agenda. ● Hands-on operator: comfortable rolling up sleeves in an SME environment and leading from the front, not just from a distance. ● Builds and develops teams: attracts talent, grows people, and creates succession at every level. ● Drives operational discipline: sets a higher bar for process, controls, and execution across the business. ● Commercially astute: reads the business like a commercial operator rather than a function head. ● Takes ownership and follows through: closes out complex, long-running issues and drives projects to completion. ● Change leader: comfortable leading transformation, systems migration, and growth-stage scaling. ● Credible with external stakeholders: auditors, banks, principals, investors, and regulators. ● Excellent written and spoken English.
