About Dream On Me

Dream On Me is a family-run juvenile products company in Somerset, New Jersey, that has designed cribs, nursery furniture, mattresses, strollers and play yards for more than 35 years. Our brands, including Dream On Me, Evolur and Hannah & Sophia, sell online and in stores through Amazon, Walmart, Target and other leading retailers, and through our own site, Ever & Ever Baby. We test every crib and stroller to exceed ASTM, CPSC and JPMA standards.

Licensing is a growing part of the business. Our partnership with Mattel produced the Fisher-Price x Dream On Me nursery collection and Barbie x Evolur kids furniture, sold across the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and we are adding new licensing partners.

The role

We're hiring a Director of Licensing to build and lead our licensing division. You'll own every license we hold and every new one we pursue, from the licensor relationship and the deal through approvals, launch, retail sell-in and royalty reporting. You'll report directly to ownership and grow the team as the portfolio grows.

What you'll do

You'll run the licensing business end to end:

• Own our licensor relationships, from day-to-day approvals to business reviews, renewals and new categories.
• Find, pitch and close new licenses that fit our categories: vet brands, build the business case and forecasts, and negotiate royalty rates, advances, minimum guarantees, territories and channels.
• Run approvals for every licensed product, from concept and design through samples, packaging and marketing, on licensor timelines.
• Keep every agreement in compliance, including royalty reporting, minimum guarantee tracking, audits, style guides and contract obligations, working with our finance team.
• Partner with sales to build and sell licensed programs to buyers at Amazon, Walmart, Target and other accounts, and bring licensors the retail plans that win new deals.
• Work with product development, design, sourcing and compliance so licensed products launch on time and meet safety standards and licensor quality requirements.
• Represent Dream On Me at Toy Fair, Licensing Expo and licensor meetings.
• Set licensing strategy and budget with ownership, and hire and manage the licensing team as it grows.

What you bring

The best fit has run licenses from the licensee side and sold the programs into retail.

Required

• 7+ years in brand licensing, including at least 3 on the licensee side at a company that makes and sells licensed consumer products, such as juvenile, toy or kids home.
• A record of managing major licensors through approvals, royalty reporting and renewals.
• Experience negotiating license agreements, and a firm grasp of how royalties, advances and minimum guarantees hit margin and forecasts.
• Experience selling or supporting licensed programs with mass and e-commerce retailers.
• Organized and deadline-driven, able to run many SKUs and approval cycles at once.
• Clear writer and confident presenter with licensors and retail buyers.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, and experience with licensor approval portals.

Nice to have

• Juvenile or children's products experience, where ASTM, CPSC and JPMA standards shape design and approvals.
• Existing relationships with entertainment, toy and character licensors.
• Relationships with buyers at Amazon, Walmart or Target.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Details

This is an in-person role at our headquarters in Somerset, NJ; it is not remote. Expect some travel to trade shows and licensor meetings.

PAY WILL BE DICUSSED DURING INTERVIEW

Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per hour
