Job Overview
Director of IT Project Management & Enterprise Systems
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, visionary, and business-focused Director of IT Project Management & Enterprise Systems to lead our technology portfolio and infrastructure roadmap. This role is responsible for establishing project governance, driving digital transformation, and aligning enterprise technology investments directly with corporate strategy.
The ideal candidate is an executive-level technology leader rather than a hands-on technician. You will oversee technical partners, vendors, and engineering teams across our core environment—including Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure, Okta identity and access management, Cisco Meraki network architecture, and enterprise ERP systems—ensuring reliable delivery, rigorous compliance, and scalable business growth.
Strategic Leadership & Responsibilities
- Enterprise Portfolio & Program Governance: Lead the overarching technology project portfolio, establishing PMO standards, resource allocation frameworks, stage-gate governance, and KPI tracking across all corporate and operational initiatives.
- Executive Business Partnering: Serve as the strategic technology advisor to executive leadership across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Fulfillment, Marketing, and Product Development to translate business objectives into prioritized, multi-year technology roadmaps.
- Modern IT Ecosystem Oversight: Provide strategic direction and governance over enterprise infrastructure, ensuring optimal architecture, uptime, and scalability across Microsoft Azure cloud environments, Okta IAM/SSO platforms, and Cisco Meraki network ecosystems.
- ERP & Business Applications Strategy: Own enterprise application strategy and roadmaps, directing system enhancements, integrations, and lifecycle governance for core ERP platforms (Aptean/Exenta ecosystem) and connected business solutions.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Direct RFP processes, contract negotiations, service-level agreements (SLAs), and ongoing performance for managed service providers (MSPs), software vendors, and implementation partners.
- Change Management & Value Realization: Champion business readiness, organizational change management (OCM), stakeholder communications, training, and cutover strategies to ensure high user adoption and measurable ROI.
- Data Strategy & Business Intelligence: Direct enterprise data architecture and BI initiatives, governing data flow, integration standards (including EDI and API middleware), and master data governance.
- Security, Governance & Compliance: Partner with information security and compliance teams to ensure architecture adherence, SOX/PCI compliance, identity lifecycle governance, and risk mitigation across all IT projects.
- Financial & Resource Stewardship: Manage IT capital expenditures (CapEx) and operational expenditures (OpEx), delivering rigorous portfolio budgeting, forecasting, and resource capacity planning.
Who You Are
- A strategic technology executive skilled at turning complex business challenges into structured, scalable IT programs.
- A high-impact communicator with strong executive presence who bridges technical concepts and C-suite business priorities with ease.
- A leader adept at managing third-party partners, vendors, and cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- A visionary focused on governance, architecture standards, automation, and operational scalability.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field required (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- Leadership Experience: 10+ years of progressive IT leadership and program management experience leading enterprise-wide systems implementations and digital transformation initiatives.
- Infrastructure & Cloud Familiarity (Governance Level): Proven experience overseeing modern IT environments utilizing Microsoft Azure, Okta Identity Provider (IDP/IAM), and Cisco Meraki networking, with an emphasis on vendor oversight, SLA enforcement, and architectural governance.
- Enterprise Applications & ERP: Extensive background leading ERP lifecycle management, integrations, and optimizations (experience with Aptean/Exenta or similar retail/apparel ERP solutions strongly preferred).
