The IT Director assumes management responsibilities for the direction, coordination, integration, and implementation of technology across the school and departments. The Director of IT will be responsible for planning, purchasing, installing, and maintaining the school's physical technology systems in a condition of excellence, always enabling full educational use of technology in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and requirements. Essential Responsibilities - Vendor & Stakeholder Management - - Serve as primary contact for outsourced IT vendor(s). - Collaborate with the Director of Finance to coordinate the procurement process of IT assets. - Develop a plan for technology distribution and maintenance of IT assets in collaboration with the leadership. - Ensure that all members of the CSLSJ community have access to the high-quality, functioning technology they need to achieve high levels of success. - In collaboration with the Executive Director, maintain a network-wide technology budget. - Manage the federal e-rate process, ensuring that the school can maximize federal funding allocations. - Technology Integration - - Leads and establishes the network and schools in technology integration, ensuring student use of technologies in service to the curriculum. - Serves as a source of information on trends, research, applications, and effective practices related to technology use within the curriculum. - Organize and lead professional development, training, and meetings with key stakeholders to support network and school staff in using technology to drive overall performance. - Develop and implement a network-wide strategic plan for utilizing technology to support and enhance teaching and learning. This plan may include: - Individualized learning pathways. - Technology-assisted formative assessment and data analysis. - Use of technology to deliver instruction. - Daily Operations - - Maintain hardware and software for all computer systems infrastructure. - Including server configuration and maintenance, software installation, and upgrades. - Copy, print, and fax machines. - Develop and maintain a system for technology equipment checkouts and check-ins. - Maintain an online system for technical support and services. - Maintain wireless and LAN connectivity for all users. - Provide troubleshooting support for all technical-related issues. Track and escalate issues as appropriate. - Develop systems to assist in the implementation of technology-based tools in the classroom. - Assist with professional development classes for teachers and students on technology-based tools. - Set up equipment for presentations/assemblies; oversee troubleshooting as needed. - Manage VOIP phone system and internet connectivity. - Manage Interactive Board and projectors. Knowledge and skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex or technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences. - Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. - Strong organizational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking skills, with the ability to identify needs and implement effective systems and practices that support school operations. - Strong supervisory and leadership skills. - Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative with minimal supervision. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and, at times, stressful school environment. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, PowerSchool, educational AI platforms, data management tools, and other related technology and software. Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory responsibilities. Work environment - Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and the community - Model professional maturity in leading students toward their academic, career, and cultural growth - Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students, parents, and schools. - Participate in training and professional development about various pedagogical competencies. - Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and collaborating effectively with colleagues. - All work responsibilities are subject to performance goals and targets established as part of the annual performance planning process. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Traveling long and short distances. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and the hours and workdays are Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 4 p.m., unless the school will host a school event, which then staff members are expected to stay. Required Education and Experience - Bachelor’s degree is required - 5-7 Years of Experience in Technology and/IT Management - Experience dealing with Student Information Systems or other Databases Preferred Education and Experience - Master's Degree - Prior classroom teaching experience
