Director of Infrastructure - Major Infra (PEPC)

About the role Our client, an Civil & Structural engineering consultancy, is looking for a Director of Infrastructure to lead its infrastructure division. You’ll own the technical quality, the team and the growth of the infrastructure practice, covering projects such as townships, roads, drainage and utilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the infrastructure division, including design teams, resourcing and delivery across multiple projects
• Oversee design work for earthworks, roads, drainage, flood mitigation, water reticulation and sewerage
• Act as the Submitting Engineer for authority submissions and approvals (local councils, JKR, JPS, water and sewerage authorities)
• Review and sign off designs, drawings and calculations to ensure quality and compliance
• Build and maintain client relationships with developers, contractors and government bodies
• Win new work: prepare fee proposals, lead tenders and attend client presentations
• Manage division budgets, fees and profitability
• Mentor and develop engineers and junior team members
• Represent the firm in technical meetings, site inspections and project coordination

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC) registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), able to sign and submit drawings
• Around 15+ years of experience, with a strong focus on infrastructure design in a consultancy
• Proven track record leading large infrastructure or township projects from design through authority approval
• Good knowledge of Malaysian authority requirements and submission processes
• Experience managing a team and handling business development
• Corporate Member of IEM is an advantage
