Director of Finance & Strategy

AW Services Group is seeking a hands-on Director of Finance & Strategy to lead the company’s financial operations and help guide its next stage of growth. This role is ideal for someone who can both own the financials and help drive business strategy while working directly with ownership and leaders across Sales, Operations, and Billing.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and monthly financial reporting.
• Ensure financial statements are accurate, reconciled, and delivered on a consistent schedule.
• Build budgets, forecasts, and budget-to-actual reporting.
• Analyze department, project, and service profitability and identify margin improvement opportunities.
• Help leadership make decisions around hiring, compensation, pricing, expenses, and growth.
• Improve financial controls, accounting processes, and management reporting.
• Work with the CPA, banks, insurance providers, and ESOP advisors.
• Assist with major customer contracts, vendor negotiations, and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience.
• Prior Controller, Director of Finance, VP Finance, or CFO experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
• Experience with privately held or owner-operated businesses preferred.
• QuickBooks experience preferred; Oracle NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
• CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus, but not required.

We want someone who is hands-on, analytical, direct, and comfortable getting into the details. This is not a role for someone who only reports historical numbers. We are looking for someone who can turn financial information into recommendations and help ownership make better decisions about the future of the company.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $125,000-$165,000, depending on experience

Pay: $125,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
