DN Colleges is seeking a Further Education Director of ESOL, Maths and English to provide strategic leadership across these vital curriculum areas. Reporting to the Executive Director of EPYP, you will lead and inspire curriculum teams to create a culture of high expectations, continuous improvement and academic excellence. You will play a key role in ensuring the curriculum remains responsive to the needs of students and the wider community, while driving improvements in teaching, learning, assessment, achievement and progression. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and influential leader to shape curriculum provision, develop staff, and contribute to the strategic direction of the College. Key Responsibilities - Provide strategic leadership and management of ESOL, Maths and English curriculum areas - Drive high standards, innovation and continuous improvement across teaching, learning and assessment - Establish and monitor ambitious targets for attendance, retention, achievement, progression and value-added performance - Lead quality assurance and quality improvement activities including self-assessment, audits and improvement planning - Use student performance data effectively to inform curriculum development and enhance outcomes - Ensure English and mathematics are embedded across the wider curriculum and valued by both staff and students - Develop and implement strategies that enhance student experience, enrichment opportunities and employability skills - Lead curriculum planning, resource deployment and budget management to ensure effective and sustainable provision - Support, coach and develop curriculum managers to strengthen leadership capability across teams - Contribute actively to the College's Senior Leadership Team and strategic planning processes Essential Criteria - Degree or equivalent qualification - PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification - Significant experience leading curriculum areas and managing teaching and support staff teams within a further education environment - Strong knowledge of current education priorities, quality assurance processes and curriculum improvement strategies - Excellent leadership, communication, organisational and data analysis skills with a proven ability to raise standards and drive improvement Benefits for Working for DN Colleges - Opportunity to influence and shape the strategic direction of key curriculum areas - Work within a values-driven organisation committed to outstanding learner experiences - Be part of a collaborative Senior Leadership Team focused on continuous improvement and innovation - Access to professional development opportunities to support ongoing growth and leadership development - Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students, staff and the wider community Important Things to Note - In DN Colleges we call this role Further Education Director of ESOL, Maths and English but you might know this as Director of English and Maths, Head of English and Maths, Curriculum Director, Director of Further Education, Director of ESOL and Functional Skills. - We are not looking for agency support for this role. - If you need more information, please contact us at staff.recruitment@dncolleges.ac.uk.
