Our client, one of Houston’s most vibrant congregations and largest synagogues, is seeking a Director of Development to lead the next phase of its philanthropic growth.

Following a successful major capital campaign, the congregation has tremendous momentum and an opportunity to build an even stronger culture of ongoing philanthropy.

Make an Impact

Reporting to the Executive Director and serving on the senior leadership team, you will:

• Shape the Strategy — Build and execute a comprehensive development plan focused on sustainable philanthropic growth.
• Cultivate Major Donors — Manage relationships with donors capable of making gifts of $25,000+ .
• Lead Fundraising Efforts — Partner with the Senior Rabbi, Executive Director, clergy, and lay leaders on cultivation and solicitation.
• Strengthen the Program — Enhance the systems, processes, and infrastructure needed to support a high-performing development program.
• Deepen Engagement — Create meaningful opportunities for donor cultivation, stewardship, planned giving, and special appeals.
• Mobilize Leadership — Engage the Advancement Committee and volunteers in expanding philanthropic support.

What You’ll Bring

• 7+ years of relationship-based fundraising experience
• Proven success in major-gift cultivation and direct solicitation
• Familiarity with Jewish communal life
• Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills
• A strategic mindset combined with a willingness to be hands-on
