Director of Commercial Development & Strategic Partnerships

A well-known national not-for-profit is creating a new Director-level role on its Senior Management Team, reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Board.
Our client provides specialist education, therapeutic and residential services to children and young people with complex needs, from a substantial Dublin campus. It has just completed a new strategy and acquired a significant additional site. Statutory funding covers much of what it does, but not the ambition. This role bridges that gap.
The Brief
- Partnerships and philanthropy. Grow corporate partnerships and multi-year philanthropic giving — the biggest and most immediate opportunity.
- Campus and property. Make more of a large and underused property base, including the newly acquired site and adjoining land.
- Enterprise and new income. Put existing trading activities on a sound commercial footing and identify new mission-aligned income.
You will lead the existing fundraising and communications team, set budgets and KPIs, and carry income targets agreed with the CEO and Board.
The Right Candidate
- A senior commercial, business development or general management background, with results to show for it in revenue, partnerships or assets.
- The network and standing to open doors across corporate Ireland, philanthropy, sport and property.
- Comfortable where regulation, governance and reputation matter.
- Charity, disability or health sector experience is not required but is an advantage if coupled with a strong track record of success.
- Property experience is welcome but not essential — the judgement to know when to bring in specialist advice matters more.
Compensation
The salary is aligned to the public-sector Grade VIII scale: €83,912 - €101,207. The role offers real autonomy, Board-level backing and commercial work with a visible and lasting result.
