We provide safe, temporary care for pets while their owners escape family violence, helping families find safety together. Every story we share helps more people understand our work, connect with our mission and support the difference Pet Refuge makes. The role We’re looking for a creative, hands-on Digital Content Creator to bring our mission to life through compelling visual storytelling. As our first dedicated Digital Content Creator, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how we tell our stories across social media, websites, email marketing, paid campaigns and partner communications – building awareness, engagement and support for our work. You’ll own the content creation process from concept through to delivery, working closely with our Head of Marketing, wider Marketing team and Shelter team. You’ll also spend regular time at our Auckland Shelter capturing the people, pets and moments that show the impact of what we do. Our offices are based on the North Shore. And the role is part time, approximately 32 hours per week. You’ll be responsible for: - Developing creative concepts and identifying content opportunities aligned with our goals. - Capturing and editing high-quality photography and video. - Creating and adapting content for different audiences, channels and formats while maintaining a strong and consistent brand. - Building trusted relationships and helping people feel comfortable being photographed, filmed or interviewed. - Managing multiple content projects and priorities from brief through to delivery. About you You’re a confident visual storyteller who can take an idea from concept to finished product with minimal direction. You’re proactive, organised and collaborative, with the sensitivity and judgement to tell stories involving people and pets affected by family violence with care. Ideally, you’ll bring: - At least four years’ experience in content creation, digital content, videography, photography or a related marketing role. - Strong photography, video production and visual storytelling skills. - Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and InDesign (or similar). - Experience creating content across social media, websites, email marketing, paid campaigns and partner communications. - Strong creative judgement, interpersonal skills and attention to detail. - Excellent organisation and project management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities. - A full, clean New Zealand driver licence and willingness to travel regularly to our Auckland Shelter. - Copywriting and content scheduling experience would be an advantage.
