Join us to take ownership of our hybrid cloud-edge architecture. You will ensure that our Azure backend is robust and cost-efficient, that our edge devices (Raspberry Pis) are always online, and that our ML team can deploy models seamlessly to the edge. Who We Are FOTONIQ is set for a bright future with its pioneering greenhouse coating. Our diffuse coating PAR+ brings consistent diffuse sunlight all year-round. We are a dynamic team using computer vision and ML to optimize physical conditions for the crops. Our mission relies on continuous data streams. We operate a critical backend on Azure that processes camera images via ML, and a fleet of edge devices (Raspberry Pi) orchestrated by K3s and connected via Tailscale. We need an infrastructure specialist to keep this machine running What You’ll Be Doing Manage and optimize our Azure cloud backend: monitor costs, configure storage lifecycles, and ensure data pipelines are reliable. Maintain the K3s cluster running on our Raspberry Pi fleet, including updates, health monitoring, and troubleshooting failed deployments. Administer the Tailscale network: manage access controls, troubleshoot connectivity issues between edge and cloud. Set up monitoring and alerting (e.g., Grafana) for both cloud services and edge devices, so we know about problems before they become critical. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps) to deploy containerized applications to both Azure and K3s. Support the team by ensuring we have the infrastructure needed to deploy our code. Who We’re Looking For Required Qualifications Solid understanding of Linux system administration and networking (DNS, firewalls, VPNs, routing). Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes / K3s). Scripting skills (Bash and Python) for automation tasks. Familiarity with at least one cloud provider (preferably Microsoft Azure: CLI, Blob Storage, VMs). A proactive, troubleshooting mindset: you enjoy diagnosing complex system issues. A passion for sustainability, innovation in horticulture, and making data-driven decisions. Valid student / working visa to perform internship in the Netherlands. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep). Knowledge of CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps). Familiarity with monitoring stacks (Grafana, Azure Monitor). Experience with IoT protocols (MQTT) or edge computing.
