The successful candidate will be responsible for improving and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, deployment processes, monitoring, automation, security, and overall system reliability. This role is suited to a DevOps professional who can work independently, troubleshoot effectively, and support development teams in delivering secure and reliable applications. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES DevOps & CI/CD - Design, build, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines . - Automate application build, testing and deployment processes. - Manage source-code and version-control workflows using Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket . - Implement automated testing and deployment practices. - Troubleshoot pipeline failures and deployment issues. - Improve deployment speed, reliability and consistency. Cloud Infrastructure - Deploy, configure and maintain cloud infrastructure. - Work with platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . - Manage cloud resources, environments and configurations. - Support infrastructure scalability, availability and performance. - Implement infrastructure monitoring and cost-conscious resource management. Infrastructure as Code & Automation - Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using tools such as: - Terraform - Ansible - CloudFormation - Automate repetitive infrastructure and operational tasks. - Maintain configuration management and environment consistency. Containers & Orchestration - Build and manage containerised applications using Docker . - Support container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes . - Troubleshoot container, networking and deployment issues. - Assist with maintaining development, staging and production environments. Monitoring & Reliability - Implement and maintain system monitoring, logging and alerting. - Monitor application and infrastructure performance. - Identify and resolve availability, performance and reliability issues. - Participate in incident investigation and root-cause analysis. - Assist with backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes. Security - Apply DevSecOps principles throughout development and deployment processes. - Implement secure access controls and secrets management. - Support vulnerability management and patching. - Ensure infrastructure and deployment processes follow security best practices. - Assist with maintaining secure cloud and application environments. Collaboration - Work closely with developers, software engineers and technical stakeholders. - Support development teams with deployment and infrastructure requirements. - Document infrastructure, deployment procedures and technical processes. - Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support where required. - Participate in remote technical meetings and project discussions. Requirements REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS The ideal candidate should have practical experience with several of the following: Cloud - AWS, Azure and/or GCP - Cloud networking and infrastructure - IAM and access management CI/CD - Jenkins - GitHub Actions - GitLab CI/CD - Azure DevOps - AWS CodePipeline / CodeBuild Containers - Docker - Kubernetes Infrastructure as Code - Terraform - Ansible - CloudFormation Operating Systems - Linux - Windows Server Programming / Scripting - Python - Bash/Shell scripting - PowerShell Version Control - Git - GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket Monitoring & Logging - Prometheus - Grafana - ELK / Elastic Stack - CloudWatch or equivalent monitoring platforms QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Minimum Requirements - Diploma, Degree or relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field . - 3+ years' experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure or a related technical role. - Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. - Experience working with cloud environments. - Strong Linux and scripting knowledge. - Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes. - Experience with Git-based development workflows. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Advantageous - AWS, Azure or GCP certification. - Terraform certification. - Kubernetes certification. - Experience with DevSecOps. - Experience with microservices and API-based architectures. - Experience supporting production environments. - Experience with automated testing and deployment. - Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments. PART-TIME WORKING MODEL This is a part-time, fully remote position . The successful candidate must: - Have reliable internet connectivity. - Have a suitable home working environment. - Be available during agreed working hours. - Be able to respond to priority technical incidents within agreed SLAs. - Work independently with minimal supervision. - Maintain clear communication with the development and technology teams. - Attend scheduled virtual meetings when required.
