# Design Engineer - Fibre Optics & Cabling **UNITED SECURITY GROUP** · Abu Dhabi · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 4 дня назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Responsible for designing and coordinating fibre-optic and structured cabling systems for UAE projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, TDRA requirements, consultant standards, and applicable international standards. Key Responsibilities - Design fibre-optic networks, structured cabling, OSP/ISP infrastructure, MDF/IDF/TR rooms, racks, and cable pathways. - Prepare AutoCAD drawings, fibre schematics, riser diagrams, rack layouts, cable schedules, fibre core schedules, and as-built drawings . - Prepare BOQs, material take-offs, technical specifications, and material submittals. - Design and coordinate SM/MM fibre, FTTx, Cat 6/Cat 6A and backbone cabling systems . - Prepare fibre routing, termination, splicing, patching, and connectivity schedules. - Ensure designs comply with UAE/TDRA requirements, project specifications, TIA/ISO/IEC and relevant industry standards . - Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, telecom providers, and internal MEP/ELV teams. - Review technical submissions, RFIs, shop drawings, and consultant comments. - Provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting. - Review OTDR, power-loss, and cable certification test reports . - Conduct site surveys and verify existing conditions where required. - Support final inspection, documentation, and project handover. Requirements - Bachelor's/Diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics, ICT, or related engineering discipline. - 3–6 years of experience in fibre optics, structured cabling, ICT, or ELV design. - UAE/GCC project experience preferred. - Strong knowledge of fibre-optic systems, OSP/ISP, FTTx, structured cabling, MDF/IDF, ODF/FDF, and telecom pathways . - Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office ; Revit/BIM experience is an advantage. - Knowledge of TDRA requirements and UAE consultant/authority approval processes . - Strong technical documentation, coordination, and communication skills. - BICSI or fibre-optic certification is an advantage.
