Design Architect

We are seeking a talented and experienced Design Architect to join our dynamic team in Dubai. As a Design Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design process on a variety of projects, collaborating closely with engineers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable architectural solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the architectural design field, within an engineering consultancy environment in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architectural Design and Concept Development:
• Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of high-end complex villas , residential towers , mixed-use developments and large-scale infrastructure projects (such as roads, bridges, and public space
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, and consultants to understand project requirements and deliver innovative, functional, and aesthetically sophisticated design solutions.
• Provide creative direction for the architectural concepts, ensuring designs are not only visually appealing but also practical and contextually appropriate for the UAE market.
• Project Coordination and Integration:
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, as well as MEP consultants, to integrate complex systems and ensure seamless project execution.
• Manage the architectural aspects of complex projects, ensuring alignment with the project vision, client goals, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee the production of detailed drawings, 3D models, and construction documentation for complex villa designs, high-rise towers, and urban infrastructure projects.
• Schematic Design to Construction Documentation:
• Lead the transition of projects from schematic design through to detailed design development, ensuring all phases meet quality, budget, and schedule targets.
• Prepare comprehensive construction documents, including technical specifications and material selections, for complex projects while maintaining compliance with local building codes and standards.
• Regulatory Compliance and Approvals:
• Ensure that all designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and the latest UAE-specific standards (Dubai Municipality regulations, RTA standards, and others).
• Liaise with relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure necessary permits and approvals are obtained, addressing design challenges to meet regulatory requirements.

1. Sustainability and Green Building Design:

• Integrate sustainable design principles across all projects, with a focus on energy efficiency, waste reduction, and environmental sensitivity.
• Advise on sustainable building systems (e.g., LEED, Estidama), incorporating green certifications into both residential and commercial developments.
• Promote innovative approaches for climate-responsive designs, particularly for complex villas and towers, considering the UAE’s hot and arid climate.
• Site Coordination:
• Oversee the quality of architectural drawings and ensure accuracy and detail in construction documents.
• Resolve design and technical issues that arise during the construction phase, providing solutions to challenges related to the complex nature of villas, towers, and infrastructure developments.

1. Client Presentations and Reporting:

• Present architectural designs, updates, and progress reports to clients and key stakeholders, ensuring that all requirements are met and expectations are managed.
• Maintain client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle and facilitating any changes or modifications based on feedback.

1. Leadership and Mentoring:

• Lead and mentor junior architects, designers, and interns, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
• Guide team members in the creation of design solutions, supporting their professional development and helping them address complex design challenges.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background:
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
• Accreditation or certification from the Dubai Municipality or UAE Engineering Association is highly preferred.
• Additional training in project management, sustainability (e.g., LEED), or advanced architectural design software would be advantageous.
• Professional Experience:
• 5-7 years of experience working in architectural design and project management, specifically with a focus on complex villas, high-rise towers, and infrastructure projects in Dubai or the UAE.
• Proven experience with managing large-scale projects from initial design through to construction completion, with a strong portfolio showcasing high-end residential developments and commercial towers.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Proficiency in architectural design software, such as AutoCAD , Revit , SketchUp , and Rhino .
• Expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its integration into the design and construction process for efficient project delivery.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling, rendering, and visualization software (e.g., 3ds Max , V-Ray , Lumion ) to present design concepts.
• Familiarity with structural, mechanical, and electrical systems and how they are incorporated into architectural designs.

1. In-Depth Knowledge of Local Codes and Regulations:

• Strong knowledge of Dubai Municipality building codes , RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) standards, and other local regulations pertaining to urban planning, building construction, and environmental sustainability.
• Experience obtaining permits and navigating the regulatory approval process in the UAE, ensuring compliance with the latest requirements.

A keen eye for design with the ability to create cutting-edge, culturally appropriate architectural concepts.

• Expertise in designing luxury villas, high-rise commercial/residential towers, and infrastructure projects with an emphasis on quality, aesthetics, and functionality.
• Ability to deliver cohesive and innovative design solutions for both private and public sectors.
• Creative and Conceptual Design Skills:
• Strong design vision and creativity, with the ability to think innovatively and deliver visually appealing and functional designs.
• Ability to translate client briefs into effective, meaningful architectural solutions.
• Attention to Detail:
• Excellent attention to detail in both the design and technical aspects of architectural projects, ensuring high-quality drawings and documentation.
• Ability to foresee potential issues and resolve them before they become problems during construction.
• Communication and Leadership Skills:
• Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) for presenting ideas, concepts, and design proposals clearly to clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team of architects, designers, and consultants in a collaborative and productive environment.
• Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:
• Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly when addressing design challenges and site-related issues.
• Ability to assess complex situations and make sound, informed decisions to maintain project timelines and quality.
• Language Skills:
• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is essential; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous but not mandatory.
