Department: Supply Chain Location: Dubai, UAE Reports To: Supply Chain Director Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for an experienced and analytical Demand Planner to join our Supply Chain Department. The Demand Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving accurate demand forecasts for products and services across the company's supply chain. The role requires close collaboration with Principals, Sales, Marketing, Commercial, and Operations teams to ensure demand forecasts are aligned with business objectives, inventory targets, business plans, and customer requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving forecast accuracy, maintaining optimum stock availability, preventing stock-outs for A and B classification items , monitoring stock levels and ageing, optimizing SKU performance, and ensuring effective utilization of warehouse space and other resources. Key Responsibilities Demand Forecasting Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for all products and services within the supply chain. Use statistical models, historical sales data, and business intelligence tools to identify demand patterns and trends. Generate annual demand forecasts based on: Historical sales trends Marketing events and promotions Seasonality Business requirements Customer needs Monitor forecast accuracy and continuously adjust forecasts where required. Work towards improving forecast accuracy and ensuring optimum inventory availability. Conduct monthly SOP meetings with the Commercial Head. Review sales plans, stock levels, and forward stock days cover while considering promotions and seasonality. Inventory Planning & Control Develop and maintain inventory targets based on demand forecasts and supplier lead times. Work closely with Principals and Operations teams to optimize inventory levels. Review actual inventory levels against target stock levels for each brand. Identify and recommend corrective actions for overstock and understock situations. Coordinate with suppliers/Principals regarding corrective actions required for inventory imbalances. Ensure no stock-outs for A and B classification items . Review and update ABCD stock classification every six months based on actual sales performance. Carry out SKU rationalization based on sales performance. Stock Ageing & Freshness Monitor and maintain inventory ageing and stock turnover. Review stock ageing reports and identify slow-moving and ageing inventory. Monitor and review: Out-of-stock items Overstock items Obsolete stock Expiry-related stock Stock freshness Recommend corrective actions to minimize wastage and improve inventory efficiency. Ensure efficient stock turnover and reduce resource wastage. Resource & Warehouse Utilization Monitor demand forecasts and ensure available resources are utilized effectively. Optimize the utilization of: Manpower Warehouse space Equipment Other operational resources Monitor warehouse capacity utilization and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Support initiatives aimed at reducing operating costs and optimizing the utilization of resources and time. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with Principals, Sales, Marketing, Commercial, and Operations teams to align forecasts and supply chain plans. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including: Potential supply disruptions Demand variability Inventory imbalances Maintain effective communication with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely action on demand and supply requirements. Operational Excellence & SOP Compliance Ensure all operations are carried out in accordance with required QMS standards and established SOPs. Review existing SOPs and recommend improvements where required. Identify and implement best practices to improve operational efficiency. Continuously identify opportunities for process and efficiency improvements. Reporting & Analysis Prepare and submit periodic operational reports to management as required. Monitor and report on forecast accuracy and stock availability. Provide management with relevant information regarding areas for improvement and operational efficiency. Review audit-related reports and take appropriate corrective action. Seek guidance from the manager on corrective actions required to improve efficiency where necessary. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Performance will be measured based on: Forecast Accuracy Matrix Stock Availability Matrix Stock Freshness SKU Rationalization Warehouse Capacity Utilization Number of CARs as per Audit Reports Inventory and stock ageing management Stock-out and overstock control Forecast and inventory planning effectiveness Requirements Education Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Qualifications in Supply Chain are desirable. Experience Minimum 5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management. Strong practical understanding of demand planning and inventory management processes. Skills & Competencies Strong analytical skills. Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in demand planning software and relevant planning tools. Strong understanding of supply chain processes and procedures. Excellent communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to analyze sales, inventory, and demand data and convert insights into effective planning decisions. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and manage changing business requirements. Preferred Profile The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of demand forecasting, inventory planning, stock optimization, SKU rationalization, supply chain processes, and warehouse capacity management , with the ability to work closely with commercial and operational teams to support business and customer requirements.
