MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE Employer: AMAZON DEVELOPMENT CENTER U.S., INC., Offered Position: Database Engineer II Job Location: East Palo Alto, California Job Number: AMZ10322425 Position Responsibilities: Perform engineering work to deliver performance and scalability for large-scale, distributed, cloud-native database services. Conduct performance analysis, performance bottleneck detection and fixing. Resolve customer issues and design and develop application tools, end-to-end testing, and overall system architecture. Build automated performance regression infrastructure. Conduct performance benchmarking for new hardware and software versions. Perform performance bottleneck analysis and software optimizations for new features. Work on workload optimizations and capacity planning. Drive resolution of critical customer performance issues. Participate in creating and driving the performance roadmap to deliver cost-effective and scalable database services. Work on multiple technical projects and ensure schedules, milestones, and priorities are compatible with technology and business goals. 40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range: $143,500/year to $194,200/year. Must have two years of experience in the following skills: (1) working on PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) databases; (2) hands-on experience performing query tuning and performance analysis of storage systems; (3) using at least one of the following performance evaluation tools: GCOV, Flamegraphs, or perf; (4) working on large code bases and coding experience in C, C++, or Python and; and (5) hands-on experience building a performance automation tool.#0000
