This role will work closely with software engineers, data analysts, business stakeholders, and other technical teams to ensure that data is collected, transformed, integrated, stored, and delivered accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate has strong experience with SQL, Python, ETL/ELT processes, databases, cloud platforms, and data pipeline development, along with a strong understanding of data quality and data modeling. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary duties and responsibilities of a Data Engineer include: 1. Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines. 2. Develop data ingestion processes from databases, APIs, files, applications, and other data sources. 3. Transform and cleanse large datasets to make them reliable and ready for analytics and reporting. 4. Design and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage solutions. 5. Develop efficient and optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation logic. 6. Build and maintain automated data workflows and pipeline orchestration. 7. Implement data validation, quality checks, monitoring, and error-handling processes. 8. Integrate data across multiple systems and platforms. 9. Collaborate with data analysts, software engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements. 10. Support the development of dashboards, reports, analytical models, and other data-driven solutions. 11. Optimize existing pipelines and data processes for performance, scalability, and reliability. 12. Document data pipelines, data models, processes, and technical solutions. 13. Troubleshoot data-related issues and identify root causes. 14. Follow security, privacy, governance, and development best practices. 15. Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement initiatives. 16. Stay current with emerging data engineering technologies, cloud services, and industry best practices. JOB SPECIFICATION: Academic Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. Work Experience: 2+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, database development, or a similar role. Competencies: Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases. Programming experience with Python or another data-oriented programming language. Hands-on experience developing and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines. Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and database design. Experience working with structured and semi-structured data. Understanding of data quality, data validation, and data governance concepts. Experience with Git or other version-control systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
