# County Auditor **Jackson County** · Edna, TX 77957 · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: вчера* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Job Title: County Auditor Location: Jackson County Office: Jackson County Service Building, County Auditor's Office Employment Type: Full-Time FSLA: Non-Exempt Salary Range: $90,000-$97,500 Submission Deadline: Open until filled About the Role The County Auditor serves as the chief financial officer of Jackson County, responsible for overseeing the county's financial operations, ensuring compliance with state laws, and maintaining transparency and accountability in public spending. This position is appointed by the District Judge and operates independently of the Commissioners Court. Key Responsibilities - Manage and supervise the county's accounting system and financial reporting - Assist the Budget Officer and Commissioners Court in the development of the annual detailed budget. - Conduct internal audits of county departments and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations - Examine and approve county expenditures before payment - Ensure county spending is in strict compliance with adopted budget Oversee grant management and reporting - Collaborate with elected officials, department heads, and external auditors Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for the Commissioners Court - All other duties and responsibilities of the County Auditor as required by local, state and federal law Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a related field (CPA preferred) - Experience in public finance, governmental accounting, or auditing - Good moral character and intelligence - Utilize the most up-to-date technology and software to ensure an efficient and accurate office - Work in a professional manner with all elected officials, department heads, employees, and the public in a professional manner Additional Information - The County Auditor is appointed by the District Judges of Jackson County for a term of two years and must meet statutory qualifications under Texas law - This is a nonpartisan, independent position - The office is open Monday- Friday/ 8am to 5pm How to Apply Submit your resume to Judge Stephen Williams, c/o Victoria County Courthouse, 2nd Floor, 115 N.
