Job Description – Costing Engineer Position: Costing Engineer Industry: Door Manufacturing / Building Materials Location: Bangalore Experience: 2–5 Years Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Civil, or related field Job Summary We are looking for a Costing Engineer with experience in manufacturing costing and estimation, preferably from the door, furniture, interior, or building materials industry . The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate product costing, analyzing material and manufacturing costs, and supporting the Sales, Production, Purchase, and Finance teams. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed costing and estimation for doors and related products. Prepare and maintain BOM (Bill of Materials) based on product specifications and drawings. Calculate raw material, labour, machine, overhead, wastage, and manufacturing costs . Prepare cost sheets and quotations for customer/project requirements. Review technical drawings and product specifications to determine material requirements. Coordinate with Sales, Production, Purchase, Design, and Finance teams. Validate current raw material and component prices. Analyze estimated versus actual production costs and identify variances. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and material optimization . Maintain costing databases, BOMs, price lists, and historical costing records. Support the Sales team with pricing and margin calculations . Assist in new product development and product costing. Required Skills Strong knowledge of costing, estimation, and manufacturing processes . Good understanding of BOM, material consumption, wastage, labour, overheads, and margins . Knowledge of door manufacturing materials such as MDF, plywood, veneer, laminates, wood, glass, hardware, and accessories will be an advantage. Ability to read and understand product/engineering drawings. Excellent MS Excel skills. Strong analytical and numerical skills. Good communication and coordination skills. High attention to detail.
