This is an unusual role combining financial-services knowledge, public speaking, London history, and e-bike riding. We are developing a new Banking & Insurance Corporate Learning Experience exploring how London became one of the world’s leading financial centres. Guests will include corporate teams, graduate and intern cohorts, executives and international business groups. The experience combines museum visits, historical artefacts and an e-bike journey through the City of London to explore themes including money, trust, credit, risk, financial crises, banking and insurance. Who we’re looking for: This role may particularly suit a retired or semi-retired senior banking, insurance or financial-services professional who would enjoy sharing their knowledge and experience with others. Retirement is not a requirement. We welcome applications from experienced professionals interested in freelance or portfolio work. You may have worked as a senior banker, Managing Director, Director, Partner, insurer, broker, investment professional, accountant, consultant or financial-services executive. Essential: * Significant professional experience in banking, insurance or financial services * Strong public-speaking and communication skills * Comfortable engaging groups of professionals * Ability to explain complex subjects clearly and conversationally * Confident and competent cyclist * Comfortable riding an e-bike in central London * Enthusiasm for working with people from different backgrounds and levels of professional experience Desirable: * Previous experience in training, mentoring, presenting or facilitating groups * Interest in London, economic history, banking history or financial institutions * Experience working with graduates, interns or executive groups * Tour guiding, teaching or lecturing experience Previous tour-guiding experience is not required. However, experienced tour guides, educators or facilitators with a background in banking, insurance or financial services are particularly welcome to apply. What you’ll do: FOF will provide the route, historical research, artefacts, e-bikes and full training in our learning and storytelling methodology. You’ll learn to deliver our Banking & Insurance experience and then bring your own professional knowledge and personality to it. Our guides don’t memorise scripts or deliver lectures. We use historical objects and locations to uncover the people behind financial systems: OBJECT → HUMAN → PURPOSE → STORY → SOCIETY You’ll help guests connect the development of London’s financial institutions with ideas and challenges that remain relevant to financial services today. Pay & working pattern: £50 per hour Freelance, initially on an ad hoc basis. Tours and corporate learning experiences will primarily take place in central London during weekdays, with assignments offered according to bookings and guide availability. About Falcons of Fitzrovia FOF creates immersive London experiences combining museums, historical objects, storytelling and e-bikes. We’re building a London Experience company, not simply an e-bike tour company. For this role, we’re not primarily looking for an experienced tour guide who has learned about banking. We’re looking for someone who understands financial services because they’ve lived it and would enjoy sharing that experience with others.
