Responsible directly to Manager. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Quality Food Production. - Well cooked, nutritious and well presented meals - Quality baked products. 2. Menu production, as per menu - Assist with breakfast. - Preparation and cooking of midday meal as per menu including special diets. - Check temperatures of products cooked as per policy - Prepare evening meal. - Assist with serving of meals. - Food produced according to recipes. - Serve food at the appropriate temperature. 3. Economical Use of Supplies - Food requirements kept within budget - Clearly dated and rotated stores inclusive of dating of decanted food - Storeroom area kept orderly and clean. - Everything stored off the floor 4. Compliance with Policies - Check and record fridge and freezer temperatures - Foods stored in fridge and freezer are covered and dated. - Punctuality - Professional Appearance, clean uniforms - Record keeping of all temperatures as per policy - Familiar with requirements under the Food plan - Observance of smoking policy - Compliance with house rules. 5. Input to ordering - Liaising closely with manager as to weekly requirements 6. Wages and hours: As per employment agreement 7. Personal qualities - Physical fitness - Ability to work without supervision - Initiative - Empathy with the elderly - Good infection control principles 8. Qualifications and experience - Previous stable work experience - Previous cooking and supervisory experience - Safe Food Handling certificate - Ability to adhere to the Food plan and manage the Food plan inspections 9 - Participate in Health and Safety training - Adhere to policies 10 - Maintain confidentiality of residents and other staff members.
