This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee all aspects of accounting management, from financial reporting to budgeting, while driving continuous improvement in our financial systems. As a key leader, you will collaborate across departments to support strategic growth and maintain robust internal controls that safeguard company assets. Summary Reporting to the CFO, the Controller is responsible for supporting the month end accounting function ensuring timely and accurate reporting while deriving the true meaning of the numbers. This position will be responsible for the monthly reporting of multiple entities, regular forecasting analytics, managing intercompany transactions, as well as supporting the administrative function as required to ensure we meet reporting deadlines. The ideal candidate will be able to manage and prioritize their time effectively and keep a constant and critical eye towards the simplification and improvement of process. Communication with both finance and operational management is key. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Preparation and review activities relating to full cycle accounting and month-end close process; · Preparation and review of working papers and schedules for supporting the balance sheet; · Manage and Process Accounts Receivable for related parties and one operating entity · Provide support to transactional processing teams involved in AR, AP, and Payroll; · Respond to ad hoc inquiries and provide information to various finance and operational management as required; · Manage the creation and distribution of regular weekly/daily reporting packages; · Assist in preparation of schedules and samples for auditors Prepare and Manage cross border transactions (import / export) Job Requirements · Ability to partner with non-finance business teams to build effective relationships; · Adaptable with excellent time management and prioritization skills; · Detail oriented and methodical; · The ability to dive into data in order to draw meaningful analytics; · Interested in and excited by harnessing technology to create efficiencies; · Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, specifically pivot tables, vlookups, and sumifs; · Solid understanding of ASPE Education, Experience, and/or Credentials · Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance; · Professional accounting designation. Preferred but not required · Three (3) or more years of progressively related experience; · Construction industry experience an asset; · Project related experience an asset; · Manufacturing related experience an asset.
